"That's the plan (to have Mayank fit for the match against Chennai Super Kings on April 19). We want him to play every game if possible," Langer said on the eve of the game against DC. "But he'll be working towards it; he's working very hard every day to be ready for whatever our next game is. He won't play tomorrow, it's unlikely... with the very short turnaround, it's unlikely that he plays these two games. But he's certainly working towards playing whenever he possibly can." Hardik Pandya cannot thank Mumbai Indians management enough for their empathy, love and care which kept the team going even after losing the first three games under his captaincy and having to face the unfair wrath from home fans. His return to Mumbai Indians as captain, replacing their five-time IPL-winning skipper Rohit Sharma, did not sit well with fans as he faced constant booing during first three games, including the previous one at the Wankhede. The three losses to start the season added to the woes and Pandya found himself under intense scrutiny. "There was a lot of love and care going around, everyone knows we lost three games but the belief and backing was there, everyone believes we needed just one win and today was the start," Pandya said at the post-match presentation following their 29-run win over Delhi Capitals here. "It was a lot of hard work. We had to clear our minds and make sure that we believed," said the skipper as his team played the first game after six-da
A clear mind and a no holds barred approach at death overs hold key for Mumbai Indians' Romario Shepherd, who powered the five-time IPL champions to a 29-run win over Delhi Capitals in their IPL match here on Sunday. The burly Guyanese all-rounder turned on the beast mode to hammer four sixes and two fours in the final over off South African pacer Anrich Nortje to collect 32 runs, finishing with an unbeaten 39 off just 10 balls. Courtesy Shepherd's blitz, Mumbai notched up their highest score at the Wankhede Stadium and also went on to record their first win of this IPL season. Everyone wants to bat a bit and before they start hitting, get used to the condition a bit. But whenever you're in the 17th over, you just go with a clear mind because there is no holding back, Shepherd told the media here after the match. Shepherd said batting with single-mindedness can bring success. Whenever you're in that kind of role you're even more dangerous, having to just hit the ball because when

Delhi Capitals would be keen to prove that their comfortable win against Chennai Super Kings was not a flash in the pan while Kolkata Knight Riders would be eyeing a hat-trick of victories when the two sides face off in the IPL here on Wednesday. After two scratchy innings, the skipper gave a glimpse of his devastating best as he scored his maiden fifty (51 off 32 balls) of the season and seems to be slowly finding his groove. The l
