Botanical Garden gets 'best metro station' award on DMRC foundation day

The Botanical Garden metro station won the awards of best station while Shastri Park depot was titled as the best metro depot, a statement issued by the DMRC on Friday said. Over 70 employees of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) won annual Managing Director's awards in recognition of their outstanding contribution in the last one year, officials said. The DMRC on Friday celebrated its 30th foundation day at Bharat Mandapam here. Delhi Metro to extend last train timing on May 7, 14 for IPL spectectators

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to extend its last train timing at all lines in view of IPL matches in the city, an official statement said on Tuesday. Taking to X, the DMRC wrote that in view of IPL matches on Wednesday, May 7, and 14 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi Metro will be extending its last train timings on all lines to enable spectators to reach their destination smoothly. The Delhi Police has also issued an advisory in connection with the match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans here on Wednesday from 7 pm to 11:30 pm. The police said that there will be diversion/restriction on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg (BSZ Marg) and JLN Marg. The commuters are requested to avoid the BZM Marg from Delhi Gate to ITO Chowk, and JLN Marg from Rajghat to Delhi Gate on Wednesday from 5 pm to 8 pm. Over 60 metro stations co-branded with reputed companies: DMRC officials

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Saturday said more than 60 stations on its network have been co-branded with reputed corporates, Public Sector Undertakings and media companies, among others, to offer them publicity opportunity while earning revenue for DMRC. The stations include eight on Red Line, 14 on Yellow Line and 25 on Blue Line. DMRC officials said that around 150 metro stations are still available for co-branding across the network. "A total of more than 60 metro stations have been cobranded so far on the DMRC network. These stations are spread across the network and the popularity of this scheme reflects the potential of the co-branding scheme. Delhi Metro revises speed restriction on yellow line after service delays

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Wednesday announced that it has revised the speed restriction between Chhatarpur and Sultanpur on the Yellow Line from 20 to 25 KMPH after earlier restrictions caused delays to services.The DMRC had on Tuesday put a temporary speed restriction of 20 KMPH between Chhatarpur and Sultanpur on the Yellow Line due to the construction of a tunnel for the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor of Ph 4."Taking into consideration the issue of passenger convenience speed restriction imposed between Chhatarpur & Sultanpur, it has now been revised to 25 KMPH. Commuters on Tuesday faced inconvenience due to delayed operations on Delhi Metro's Yellow Line. The line runs between Millennium City Centre in Gurgaon and Samaypur Badli in Delhi. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) took to X to caution commuters about the delay in services due to temporary speed restriction imposed between Chhatarpur and Sultanpur. "A temporary speed restriction of 20 kmph has been imposed between Chhatarpur and Sultanpur on Yellow Line due to construction of a tunnel for the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor of Phase 4. This may cause a slight delay in services," the DMRC posted on X on Tuesday.

Bank of Baroda wins co-branding rights for three Delhi Metro stations

State-owned Bank of Baroda (BoB) on Tuesday announced that it has acquired the co-branding rights for three stations of Delhi Metro. These stations are Inderlok, South Extension and Rajouri Garden. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) awarded the naming rights to the bank for a period of 10 years, beginning from 2024, BoB said in a statement. In addition to the exclusive co-branding rights, the bank will get a dedicated space for branding, display of products and installation of an ATM/Digital Banking Unit (DBU)/ kiosk to serve customers, it said. Meanwhile, the bank's executive director Ajay K Khurana inaugurated the new station branding at Inderlok Metro station. The Delhi Metro is India's largest and busiest metro rail system with daily ridership of more than 60 lakh, it claimed.

DMRC opens entry, exit gates of Lok Kalyan Marg metro station after 9 hours

Nine hours after shutting the gates of Lok Kalyan Marg metro station due to security reasons, the DMRC has opened its entry and exit on Tuesday evening, officials said. Two gates of Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat metro station were also opened, they said. Ahead of the AAP's protest against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday closed the entry and exit gates at Lok Kalyan Marg metro station. The entry and exit have been restricted at Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat metro stations. "Due to security reasons, entry/exit at Lok Kalyan Marg Metro station, Gate no 3 of Patel Chowk Metro Station and Gate no 5 of Central Secretariat Metro station will remain closed till further notice," the DMRC said in a post on X. Delhi Metro services to begin from 2:30 pm on Holi, Mar 25: DMRC officials

Delhi Metro services will begin from 2.30 pm on the day of Holi on March 25, officials said on Friday. The services on non-terminal stations will be available much later as the operations start from terminal stations at 2.30pm. "On the day of the Holi festival, on March 25 (Monday), Metro services will not be available till 2.30 pm on all lines of the Delhi Metro including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line," the DMRC said in a statement. Metro train services will thus start at 2.30 pm from terminal stations on all lines on March 25 and will continue normally thereafter, it further said.

The Delhi Metro has reopened the ITO and the Lok Kalyan Marg stations, a day after these were closed in view of an AAP protest against the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, officials said on Saturday. Earlier in the day, DMRC had announced closure of ITO Metro Station from 8 am to 6 pm. The road is where the prime minister's residence is. The transporter shut down the stations following the directions of police.
