The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will be adding more than 1,100 e-autos to its existing fleet of electric three-wheelers to further boost last-mile connectivity, an official said on Wednesday. Of the 2,299 e-auto permits -- 1,636 general and 663 women -- allotted to the DMRC by the Transport Department, 1,183 e-autos -- 857 general and 326 women -- have been registered. These e-autos are operating from around 40 DMRC stations that are equipped with charging points and dedicated parking spaces, officials said. "Another 1,116 -- 779 general and 337 women -- e-autos are expected to be registered by the end of August," the DMRC official said. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Monday said it is facilitating comfortable journeys for commuters at 24 degrees Celsius amid the scorching heat and added that the daily ridership this May hit a high for the month with 60.17 lakh passengers. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Saturday said more than 60 stations on its network have been co-branded with reputed corporates, Public Sector Undertakings and media companies, among others, to offer them publicity opportunity while earning revenue for DMRC. Delhi Metro services will begin from 2.30 pm on the day of Holi on March 25, officials said on Friday. The services on non-terminal stations will be available much later as the operations start from terminal stations at 2.30pm. "On the day of the Holi festival, on March 25 (Monday), Metro services will not be available till 2.30 pm on all lines of the Delhi Metro including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line," the DMRC said in a statement. Metro train services will thus start at 2.30 pm from terminal stations on all lines on March 25 and will continue normally thereafter, it further said.

DMRC chief Vikas Kumar has conducted a late-night inspection of some metro stations on its Pink Line, a day after a portion of a wall collapsed at Gokulpuri station, officials said on Saturday. A 53-year-old man died and four people were injured in the Thursday morning incident. "The DMRC MD conducted an inspection of some of the metro stations on its Pink Line on Friday night. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Thursday announced Rs 15 lakh in compensation for the family of 53-year-old man who died after a portion of the Gokulpuri Metro Station on the Pink Line in northeast Delhi collapsed, official statement said. The DMRC announced Rs 2.5 lakh for the grievously injured and Rs 50,000 for those who received minor injuries, it stated. The transporters also suspended two of its officials over the collapse. "Two DMRC officials, a manager and a junior engineer from the civil department, have been immediately suspended," the statement read. The DMRC will be investigating the circumstances leading to this incident to take necessary remedial measures to prevent such unfortunate occurrences in the future, it said.
