IL&FS has decided to sell its entire 26 per cent equity stake in Noida Toll Bridge Company Ltd (NTBCL), which owns and maintains DND flyover connecting Delhi to Noida. IL&FS has decided to monetise this marquee DND flyover, which was built in 2001, as one of the first roads to provide seamless connectivity from Delhi to Noida. IL&FS has around 26 per cent stake in NTBCL, while the Uttar Pradesh government has 5 per cent stake. The remaining shares in the listed company are with the public. The Board has decided to call for a public process to divest its share in the road project and would soon be inviting bids under this initiative, sources said. IL&FS spokesperson confirmed the decision saying "monetisation of road assets is in accordance with the approved resolution framework." Around 90 per cent of people surveyed stated that they are getting pesky calls from individuals selling financial services, real estate projects and other products despite being registered on the Do Not Disturb list, says a survey by LocalCircles. A vast majority of respondents surveyed have shared that they get spam calls every day and most of the calls are from individuals selling financial services and real estate products and services, according to the survey. The survey comprising seven questions claims to have received 60,000 responses from 378 districts but the number of replies on each question varied. In response to a question on the number of calls that people get, 90 per cent of respondents shared that they get at least 1-2 calls daily while 3 per cent said that they get over 10 pesky calls daily. The Ashram-DND flyover extension has now been opened for heavy vehicles after the low-hanging high-tension wires were lifted to a safe level, officials said on Monday. Delhi Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Atishi said the successful lifting of these wires has allowed all vehicles to use the route without any restrictions. "The movement of heavy vehicles on the Ashram DND flyover extension was restricted as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of commuters in the vicinity of the high-tension wires. However, with the assistance of the concerned department, the PWD has successfully lifted the wires, allowing all vehicles to use this crucial route without any restrictions," Atishi said. Earlier, heavy vehicles were restricted from using the flyover resulting in longer travel times and congestion on alternate routes.
