Vistara's Mumbai-bound flight returns to Varanasi due to bird hit

A Vistara flight heading to Mumbai returned to Varanasi after it suffered a bird hit on Friday, the airline said. This is the second such incident reported in the country in two days. In a statement, a spokesperson of the private carrier said: "Vistara flight UK 622 operating from Varanasi to Mumbai on August 5, 2022 turned back to Varanasi due to a bird strike during departure. State-owned Alliance Air launches flight on Bilaspur-Bhopal route

The Centre-run Alliance Air on Sunday started a flight between Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, which will operate four days in a week. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who was in Kanker district, virtually launched the inaugural flight which took off from the Bilasa Devi Kevat Airport in Bilaspur, located nearly 125 km from the state capital Raipur. The ATR 72-seater aircraft of the Alliance Air took off from Bilaspur at 11.35 am on Sunday for Bhopal with 50 passengers onboard. SpiceJet to make Bhavnagar-Pune route flights operational from May 5

SpiceJet on Tuesday said it will start flights connecting Bhavnagar in Gujarat with Pune and Mumbai from May 5 onwards. In a statement, the airline said it will also start additional flights on the Ahmedabad-Pune route. The Bhavnagar-Pune flight will operate under the Central government's UDAN scheme, it mentioned. Under the UDAN scheme, financial incentives from the Centre, state governments and airport operators are extended to selected airlines to encourage operations from unserved and underserved airports and to keep airfares affordable. SpiceJet will deploy its Q400 aircraft for the flights.
