SpiceJet announces launch of 28 new domestic flights

SpiceJet will launch 28 new domestic flights across the country from October 31 onwards, the airline said Monday. It will launch multiple new non-stop flights connecting the tourist hotspots of Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur in Rajasthan with key metros and cities as part of its new winter schedule, SpiceJet said in a statement. SpiceJet will also connect Bagdogra with Ahmedabad, Kolkata with Srinagar and add two new flights on the Bengaluru-Pune sector, it said. The government had on October 12 allowed airlines to operate domestic flights without any capacity restriction from October 18. When the government resumed the scheduled domestic flights on May 25 last year after a two-month break, the ministry allowed the carriers to operate not more than 33 per cent of their pre-Covid services. This cap was gradually increased to up to 85 per cent till September this year.

Aviation minister Scindia flags off SpiceJet's Delhi-Tirupati flight

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia virtually flagged off SpiceJet's flight on the Delhi-Tirupati route on Sunday, the airline said. The airline will operate the flight three times a week till October 31, according to its statement. From October 31, the flight on the Delhi-Tirupati route will be operated four times a week, it mentioned. The airline already connects Tirupati with Hyderabad and Pune on its network, it stated.

IndiGo to start 8 new domestic flights in first week of September

IndiGo on Thursday said it will start eight new domestic flights during the first week of September, connecting cities including Dehradun, Indore and Lucknow. "IndiGo will operate new flights between Delhi-Lucknow, Lucknow-Jaipur, and Indore-Lucknow effective September 1, while the flights connecting Delhi and Dehradun will commence from September 5," the airline said in a statement. Sanjay Kumar, Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, IndiGo, said these eight new flights will not only improve accessibility, but also cater to the increased travel demand from Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dehradun, and Indore.
