Screenwriters Association comes up with plan ensuring fair pay for writers
The Screenwriter Association (SWA) has announced an initiative under which a writer will be paid remuneration depending on the scale of a film production. Anjum Rajabali, writer-activist, said the new plan will ensure fair pay to writers, who are most of the time underpaid in the industry for their services. "If there is no script, there is no film and no job in the industry. It's the blueprint on which the entire project is based, and therefore there has to be a certain value to the script, which will encourage people to write better," Rajabali said in a statement. "Today, the industry needs a good script, and to get that you must give incentives to the writers," he added. He revealed that Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment will be the first banner to implement the proposed plan. A new book uses 30 asanas to draw a connection between modern yoga practice and ancient Indian mythology and nature. In "Beyond Asanas: The Myths and Legends behind Yogic Postures", Pragya Bhatt seeks to find out how names for yoga poses came about, inspired from animals, nature and even sages. Each asana is depicted through the lens of Joel Koechlin. According to the author, nature played an important role in rites and rituals, with ancient yogis drawing inspiration from the world around them. Almost all mythological figures were associated with at least one animal. It is no surprise, then, that many yoga poses are inspired by animals, insects and nature. "Yoga philosophy postulates an interconnection between living things. All living things are considered equal and we see them all play important roles in mythology. Producer Amy Pascal has confirmed that a sequel to 2018 blockbuster "Venom" is moving forward at Sony with Hollywood star Tom Hardy set to reprise his role. Pascal shared the news in an interview with Fandango, where the producer said Hardy will be back as Eddie Brock aka Venom in the follow-up.
