Bigg Boss Marathi contestant held in cheque-bouncing case
Abhijeet Bichukale, a contestant in Bigg Boss Marathi, has been arrested by Satara police in Maharashtra, a senior official said Friday. Bichukale, who is participating in the second edition of Bigg Boss Marathi, was arrested from the sets of the tv reality show in suburban Mumbai Thursday night. 'Halloween 2' eyes October 2020 release, Jamie Lee Curtis and David Gordon Green to return
A sequel to Universal and Blumhouse's 2018 film "Halloween" is moving forward with the studios looking at a release date in October 2020. According to Collider, both actor Jamie Lee Curtis and director David Gordon Green will be coming back for the sequel. The 2018 film, which rebooted the franchise, also featured Judy Greer and Andi Matichak. Both the actors are expected to reprise their roles in the sequel. Sources told the outlet that production is expected to start just after the Labour Day holiday. Universal already has an untitled Blumhouse horror movie scheduled for October 16, 2020 that will most likely be "Halloween 2". "Halloween" was a direct sequel to John Carpenter's 1978 original. The filmmaker is expected to return as producer of the 2020 sequel, alongside Blumhouse's Couper Samuelson, Green, and Danny McBride, who co-wrote and produced the reboot.

Aanand L Rai, whose romantic-drama "Raanjhanaa" clocked six years Friday, says he considers the film instrumental in his growth as a filmmaker. "Deadpool" star Morena Baccarin has boarded the cast of action thriller "Waldo". The film, based on Howard Michael Gould's 1982 novel "Last Looks", will be directed by Tim Kirkby, who has helmed many episodes of "Veep" and "Fleabag". "X-Men" producer Lauren Shuler Donner has revealed that she pushed for a female X-Men movie before Wonder Woman became the first women-fronted superhero film. Donner, who has been part of the franchise since the first movie in 2000, said the studio - Fox - did not want to make a movie led by a female character, reported Digital Spy. "I actually wanted very much to do a female 'X-Men' movie five years before 'Wonder Woman', but the studio didn't want to do it. I'm unhappy we didn't get to do the solo films that I wanted to do," she said. Donner, however, is happy with Fox's merger with Disney and hopes Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige will "treat" the franchise well. "But the good news is that (the X-Men movie rights) now go to Kevin Feige, who used to work for me. I know that he will treat the X-Men really well and so I'm not worried." 'Riverdale' season four to have Luke Perry tribute episode
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, creator of American drama series "Riverdale", has confirmed that an episode of season four will pay tribute to the actor Luke Perry. Perry passed away in March at the age of 52 a week after he suffered a massive stroke at his home in Sherman Oaks. He essayed the role of Archie's father Fred Andrews in the teen drama. Aguirre-Sacasa wrote on Twitter, "Probably the most important episode of #Riverdale we'll do this year, if not ever. A tribute to our fallen friend. Thankful for this opportunity to honour Luke & Fred." Aguirre-Sacasa had previously said that the series will acknowledge Perry's passing in the narrative of the show. Yoga guru Ramdev pens autobiography
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev will unveil the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of his life and provide insights into his childhood in his soon-to-be published autobiography. The book, "My Life, My Mission", co-authored with senior journalist Uday Mahurkar, addresses the major controversies, turning points and achievements of Ramdev's life. The "one of its kind personal narrative" of the life and times of the yoga teacher is expected to hit stands in August, publishers Penguin Random House said in a statement. Ramdev took to micro-blogging site Twitter to make the announcement. "A lot has been written about me by other people. Now I will share with you the story of my life in my own words. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has taken several steps to promote regional language films at the national and international level with several such movies screened at top film events across the globe, the Lok Sabha was informed Friday. Every year, films are selected for Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and from these entries, 47 Films, including 26 feature films and 21 non-feature films are selected in various Indian languages for screening in IFFI as well as in various Indian and international film festivals and Indian film weeks or festivals abroad, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar said. The ministry also organises national film awards annually wherein films from across the country in Hindi and regional languages are awarded under different categories, he said in a written reply in the lower house. Actor Ian Gomez has been roped in for Clint Eastwood's "The Ballad of Richard Jewell". The movie is based on Marie Brenner's story in Vanity Fair about Jewell, working at the 1996 Olympic Summer Games when he discovered a backpack containing pipe bombs.
