Foreign ministers of Sweden, Latvia arrive in Delhi for Raisina Dialogue

Sweden's Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom and Latvia's Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karins arrived in India on Tuesday to attend the Raisina Dialogue set to be held in New Delhi from February 21-23.The Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, stated that the two leaders were extended a warm welcome in Delhi.In a post on X, Randhir Jaiswal stated, "Greetings to our esteemed guests arriving for #RaisinaDialogue2024! EAM Jaishankar discusses Gaza situation with Palestinian counterpart

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday met his Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maliki during which they exchanged views on the current situation in war-torn Gaza. Jaishankar is in Germany to attend the prestigious Munich Security Conference, the world's leading forum for debate on international security. Relevance of Quad set to grow: EAM Jaishankar at Indian Ocean Conference

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday said he is confident that the relevance of the Quad grouping would grow and it would become a bigger factor in the larger regional, and beyond the region, politics and policy. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe have reviewed the progress in bilateral cooperation and agreed to continue deepening them. Jaishankar, who is in the Australian city of Perth to attend the two-day-long Indian Ocean Conference, met President Wickremesinghe on Friday evening. "Pleased to call on Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe on the sidelines of the Indian Ocean Conference in Perth. India emerged as a "friend" and "consensus builder" in the world following its successful G20 presidency, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Friday, describing it as a "notable period" in the country's diplomatic history. In an address at a book-launch ceremony, Jaishankar especially referred to New Delhi managing to produce a leaders' declaration at the G20 Summit in September last year, overcoming divisions over the Ukraine conflict. Budget 2024: External affairs ministry gets allocation of Rs 22,154 crore

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) was on Thursday allocated a total of Rs 22,154 crore for the fiscal 2024-25 in the Union Budget as against last year's outlay of Rs 18,050 crore. In line with India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy, the largest share of aid portfolio has been granted to Bhutan with an allocation of Rs 2,068 crore. The development outlay for the Himalayan nation in 2023-24 was Rs 2,400 crore. The allocation for Chabahar Port has also been maintained at Rs 100 crore, underlining India's focus on connectivity projects with Iran. The development assistance to the Maldives has been kept at Rs 600 crore as against last year's Rs 770 crore, according to budget papers. In continuation with India's special relationship with the people of Afghanistan, a budgetary aid of Rs 200 crore has been set aside for that country. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday said India's greater capability, its own interest and reputation today warrant that it actually help in difficult situations, in reference to the Indian Navy's deployment of warships in the Red Sea region to deal with attacks on merchant navy vessels.
