India announces 21-members for FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup beginning Oct 11

Head coach Thomas Dennerby on Wednesday named a 21-member Indian squad for the FIFA U-17 women's World Cup, scheduled to begin here on October 11. Hosts India have been drawn in Group A alongside USA, Morocco and Brazil. They will face USA on October 11, followed by matches against Morocco and Brazil on October 14 and October 17 respectively, at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. It's a new situation for everyone. FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup coach education scholarship programme underway

FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup legacy initiative, the coach education scholarship programme has started here, where 24 aspiring coaches all females are undertaking an e-license grassroots course to become officially certified football coaches. This, the 14th edition of the programme, being conducted between September 14-17, will train its participants in both, theoretical and practical aspects of the game while also equipping the participating women with leadership qualities. "It is a matter of pride and happiness that the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup legacy initiative has come to Punjab. "This programme will really help the aspiring female coaches to not just learn coaching skills but also gain leadership qualities. Odisha to complete preparations for FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup by Sept-end

The Odisha government directed officials on Friday to complete all preparations by this month for Fifa U-17 Women's World Cup at Kalinga Stadium. The prestigious tournament will be held in Bhubaneswar, Margao in Goa and Navi Mumbai from October 11-30. The Kalinga Stadium will host three pool matches of India on October 11, 14 and 17. Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra held a high-level meeting at the Loka Seba Bhavan during the day and reviewed the progress of preparatory work at the stadium, which has been equipped with adequate training and parking facilities.
