The staffing industry grew 3.6 per cent in October-December 2023 as compared to the previous quarter, the Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) said on Monday. ISF, the apex industry body representing manpower outsourcing industry, released the Flexi Staffing Industry Employment growth report for Q3 FY2024 (October-December 2023). The staffing industry witnessed a 3.6 per cent growth in December quarter FY24 in comparison to July-September period, recording a robust demand for flexi (contract) workforce, ISF said in a statement. The staffing industry grew at 16.4 per cent year-on-year in the period January-December 2023. The rise in employment was particularly notable in key sectors such as e-commerce, retail, FMCG, logistics, manufacturing, hospitality, tourism, aviation, energy etc, it stated. Flexi staffing industry logged 14 per cent growth in new jobs in the country in 2022-23, Indian Flexi Staffing Federation (IFS) said on Tuesday. Members of the industry body ISF collectively added 1.77 lakh new flexi jobs in FY23, driven by the surge in employment particularly in key sectors such as e-commerce, logistics, manufacturing, tourism and hospitality, FMCG, consumer durables, and healthcare, a statement said. Women's participation in the flexi workforce continued to account for 24 per cent in FY'2023. These findings were unveiled in the ISF's Annual Flexi Staffing Industry Employment Trend Report -2023, which was released on Tuesday. The Indian flexi staffing industry added 78,000 jobs in July-September 2022, up 6 per cent as compared to the previous quarter, on account of rise in demand across all sectors, a report said. "Buoyed by a strong festive season and rising demand across sectors, the Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) members added 78,000 new jobs in July-September quarter, a 6 per cent rise in new jobs over previous April-June quarter," said ISF's Flexi Staffing Employment Growth report.
