Around 15 flights diverted from Delhi due to adverse weather conditions

As many as 15 flights have been diverted from Delhi due to the adverse weather conditions in the national capital, Airport sources said.According to the sources, nine flights were diverted to Jaipur, two to Amritsar, two to Lucknow, one to Mumbai, and one to Chandigarh.Meanwhile, the national capital experienced a sudden change in weather as rain lashed several parts of Delhi on Tuesday evening.The brief spell of rain gave some relief to the commuters who have been facing the scorching heat in April.Earlier, the India Meteorological Department on Sunday said that the temperature in Delhi is expected to remain around 38 degrees Celsius in the coming 2-3 days adding that there is a possibility of light rain on Monday.Speaking to ANI, IMD Senior Scientist Dr Naresh Kumar said that in the next 4-5 days, the temperature can reach 44 degrees Celsius in Eastern India."In Delhi, our estimate is that the temperature is expected to remain around 38 degrees Celsius in the coming 2-3 days. 12 flight diverted, over 30 delayed at Delhi airport due to dense fog

Two flights were diverted and nearly 30 flights delayed at the Delhi airport on Tuesday morning due to dense fog. One flight each of IndiGo and SpiceJet were diverted to Jaipur, an official said. As per information available on the Delhi airport website, around 30 flights have been delayed in the morning. In a post on X, DIAL gave a fog alert at around 0730 hrs saying that while landing and takeoffs continue at the Delhi airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. CAT III pertains to operating flights when the visibility is quite low. "Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) said in the post.

London-bound British Airways flight returns to Delhi due to technical issue

A British Airways plane enroute to London returned to the national capital on Friday morning due to a technical issue, according to sources. The aircraft, which took off at around 0945 hours, returned soon due to fire indication lights. There were more than 200 people onboard, one of the sources said. As per information on flight tracking website Flightradar24, the flight BA 142 was operated with a Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The source also said the flight was cancelled for the day. Further details could not be immediately ascertained.

London's Luton Airport reopened Wednesday after a vehicle fire spread through a newly built parking garage, causing the partial collapse of the structure and major disruption for tens of thousands of passengers. Dozens of flights were cancelled, diverted or delayed at Luton, located about 56 km (35 miles) north of central London, after the blaze erupted late Tuesday. Four firefighters and an airport employee were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation after the fire. Officials at the airport, which is a hub for easyJet, Ryanair and other budget airlines running flights to destinations in the United Kingdom and Europe, said flights began to arrive and take off again Wednesday afternoon. Fire partially collapses parking structure at Luton Airport, 5 hospitalised

An airport in London said all flights have been suspended late Tuesday after a fire broke out in one of its parking lots. Luton Airport, located about 35 miles (56 kilometers) north of central London, said that all flights are currently suspended as emergency services respond to a car fire that has spread in Terminal Car Park 2.
