Around 15 flights diverted from Delhi due to adverse weather conditions

As many as 15 flights have been diverted from Delhi due to the adverse weather conditions in the national capital, Airport sources said.According to the sources, nine flights were diverted to Jaipur, two to Amritsar, two to Lucknow, one to Mumbai, and one to Chandigarh.Meanwhile, the national capital experienced a sudden change in weather as rain lashed several parts of Delhi on Tuesday evening.The brief spell of rain gave some relief to the commuters who have been facing the scorching heat in April.Earlier, the India Meteorological Department on Sunday said that the temperature in Delhi is expected to remain around 38 degrees Celsius in the coming 2-3 days adding that there is a possibility of light rain on Monday.Speaking to ANI, IMD Senior Scientist Dr Naresh Kumar said that in the next 4-5 days, the temperature can reach 44 degrees Celsius in Eastern India."In Delhi, our estimate is that the temperature is expected to remain around 38 degrees Celsius in the coming 2-3 days. Delhi airport: 10 flights diverted, nearly 100 delayed amid dense fog

A total of 10 flights were diverted, nearly 100 delayed and some cancelled at the Delhi airport on Sunday morning as low visibility conditions due to dense fog disrupted operations. An official said a total of 10 flights, including 2 international flights, were diverted to Jaipur between 4.30 am and 12 noon. Nearly 100 flights, including overseas services, were delayed and some of the flights cancelled due to the bad weather, the official said. Through social media, airlines said their flight schedules might be impacted due to adverse weather conditions. Among the impacted flights, Air India's flight AI 185 from the national capital to Vancouver that was to depart early in the morning was rescheduled. 12 flight diverted, over 30 delayed at Delhi airport due to dense fog

Two flights were diverted and nearly 30 flights delayed at the Delhi airport on Tuesday morning due to dense fog. One flight each of IndiGo and SpiceJet were diverted to Jaipur, an official said. As per information available on the Delhi airport website, around 30 flights have been delayed in the morning. In a post on X, DIAL gave a fog alert at around 0730 hrs saying that while landing and takeoffs continue at the Delhi airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. CAT III pertains to operating flights when the visibility is quite low. "Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) said in the post.

33 flights diverted from Chennai to B'luru due to cyclone Michaung impact

Thirty three flights from Chennai were diverted to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) here on Monday, as heavy rains continued to pound Tamil Nadu capital and nearby districts of the neighbouring state under the impact of a cyclonic storm. According to officials of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) that operates KIA, both domestic as well as international flights including that of Indigo, SpiceJet, Etihad, Lufthansa and Gulf Air were diverted to the city from Chennai, where many flights have also been cancelled. The Chennai airport has been closed for arrival and departure operations till 11 pm on Monday due to severe weather conditions. AI's SFO flight diverted to Alaska due to tech issue; lands later: Official

A San Francisco (SFO)-bound Air India flight from Bengaluru, with more than 280 people onboard, was diverted to a city in Alaska due to a technical issue, according to an airline official. After fixing the issue, flight AI 175 took off and landed at San Francisco at around 1000 hours India time on Monday, the official said. The flight, operated by a B777 aircraft, faced a technical issue enroute to San Francisco. It was diverted to Anchorage, a city in Alaska. There were more than 280 people onboard and the flight later landed at its destination after a delay of around four hours. Generally, the duration of the flight from Bengaluru to San Francisco is around 16 hours. There was no official statement from Air India.

Air India's Newark-Delhi flight diverted to Stockholm due to oil leak

An Air India flight from Newark to Delhi was diverted to Stockholm on Wednesday due to an oil leak in one of the engines, according to a senior official. The senior DGCA official said the flight, operated with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, had an oil leak in one of the engines. Following the oil leak, the engine was shut down, and later the flight landed safely in Stockholm, the official added. During the ground inspection, oil was seen coming out from the drain mast of engine two, the official said, adding that the inspection is in progress.
