Future of mobility belongs to India: PM Modi at Bharat Mobility Expo

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said future of mobility belongs to India that saw an unprecedented sale of 2.5 crore vehicles a year, and attracted USD 36 billion foreign direct investment in just four years. Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 at Bharat Mandapam here, the prime minister also emphasised that India stands as an outstanding destination for every investor looking to shape one's future in the mobility sector. The five-day expo which is being held across three venues -- Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in the national capital and India Expo Center and Mart, Greater Noida -- is expected to witness over 100 new launches across automobiles, component products and technologies. India, Germany to improve cooperation in clean energy, mobility sectors

Ahead of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's visit to India, New Delhi and Berlin have decided to shore up cooperation in the areas of renewable energy, urban development, agroecology and mobility. Ways to expand engagement in these key areas figured prominently at the development policy negotiations led by India's Department for Economic Affairs and Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, German officials said on Saturday. Both sides agreed to continue their cooperation in the areas of renewable energy, urban development, mobility and agroecology in the coming years, they said. The Indo-German cooperation is strategically guided by the "Partnership for Green and Sustainable Development", which was established in 2022 following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Scholz. Mobility access to can increase females in workforce 4-6.9% by 2028: Report

Access to mobility can increase women's participation in the workforce between 4 to 6.9 per cent by 2028, a report by Uber and Oxford Economics has said. The report draws from a survey of Uber riders conducted across five Indian cities - Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. The report said access to mobility can boost the number of women in the workforce in these cities to 0.32 million-0.56 million and lead to an increase of over one per cent in the size of their economies. Speaking at the release of the report on Thursday, Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani said access to mobility can improve workforce participation of women and it is also imperative for increasing their enrolment in higher education. Energy storage startup Matter partners ARAI for next gen mobility solutions

Energy storage start-up Matter on Monday said it has entered into an agreement with Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for collaboration in next-generation mobility solutions. The two parties have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) under which they will collaborate in next-generation mobility solutions in the areas of functional safety, electronics reliability and cyber security, the company said in a statement.
