Gemini not reliable on political topics: Google on chatbot's response on PM

Under fire over AI tool Gemini's objectionable response and bias to a question on PM Narendra Modi, Google on Saturday said it has worked quickly to address the issue and conceded that the chatbot "may not always be reliable" in responding to certain prompts related to current events and political topics. On Friday, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar had warned that Google's AI tool Gemini's response to a question around the Prime Minister is in direct violation of IT rules as well as several provisions of the criminal code. Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for IT and Electronics, had taken cognizance of the issue raised by verified accounts of a journalist alleging bias in Google Gemini in response to a question on Modi while it gave no clear answer when a similar question was asked for Trump and Zelenskyy. In an e-mail statement, a Google spokesperson said, "We've worked quickly to address this issue." Google further said Gemini is built as a creativity and productivity tool and

Dunzo moves to Zoho workspace from Google suite to cut costs by one third

Troubled quick commerce startup Dunzo has migrated all its employee accounts to Zoho workspace from Google, to bring down costs by at least a third. Google workspace is priced at about Rs 1,600 per user each month under the enterprise plan, while Zoho charges a portion of that at Rs 489 for similar offerings. A Dunzo spokesperson commented on the matter, saying, "This migration is just a regular business decision. There were some initial teething issues for the first couple of days, but all of these have been ironed out now." The company's auditor Deloitte during the regulatory filing casted a doubt on the company being a going concern after net loss ballooned to Rs 1,802 crore in FY23, which is a 288 per cent increase from the previous year. In accounting terms, entities functioning as a 'going concern' have sufficient resources to continue making money and would not go bankrupt in the foreseeable future. Google should bring Tensor chip plant in India in 3 years: Vaishnaw

While Google has announced the manufacturing of Pixel smartphones in India, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has asked the company to start production of its Tensor chipset in India in three years. The communications and IT minister has also suggested Google to bring premium Pixel Fold devices in India at the earliest. The Tensor G3 chipset includes the latest generation of ARM central processing units, an upgraded Graphics processing unit (GPU), and next-gen Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) to support Google's artificial intelligence (AI) models. GPU and application-specific chips are crucial to support the development and implementation of AI technologies, but there is a shortage in their supplies due to advanced bulk orders from the US and China-based entities. "I have asked them to bring the fab of Tensor to India in three years. In the coming days, they should start manufacturing Tensor in an Indian fab," Vaishnaw told reporters on the sidelines of the Google for India event. The
