ALHs of Army Aviation fly-past in Rudra formation over Kartavya Path

The Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) of the Army Aviation Corps performed a fly-past over the Kartvya Path in the 75th Republic Day parade on Friday. It was followed by marching contingents of the army. The fly-past in the Rudra formation was led by the newly inducted Prachand helicopter, followed by three Rudra helicopters. The marching contingents included those from the Madras Regiment, the Grenadiers, and the Rajputana Rifles. The combined band of the Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre, the 58 Gorkha Training Centre and the 39 Gorkha Training Centre, and one of the JAK Li Regt Centre, the 1 Signal Training Centre and the Arty Centre, Hyderabad, were also among the contingents.

CSIR-NIIST, HAL sign MoU to strengthen indigenisation in aerospace sector

Kerala-based CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST) signed an MoU on Thursday with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), Bengaluru for a collaboration in the nation's aerospace and defence sectors, NIIST said. NIIST said that it would be collaborating with HAL on strengthening the indigenisation and import substitution programme for the nation's aerospace and defence sectors, as envisioned by the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The MoU, signed and exchanged in Bengaluru, involves the development of magnesium and aluminium alloy castings and deals with related areas for the aerospace and defence sectors, it said in the release. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of senior scientists and officials from both organisations, the release said. HAL, Safran Aircraft sign MoU for commercial engine parts manufacturing

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Safran Aircraft Engines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop industrial cooperation in ring forging manufacturing for commercial engines. HAL will produce LEAP (Leading Edge Aviation Propulsion, powering Airbus A320 Neo family and Boeing 737 Max) engine forgings at its Foundry & Forge facility here as part of the MoU. The MoU was signed by CEO (Bangalore Complex), HAL, Mihir Kanti Mishra, and Senior Vice-President (Purchasing), Safran Aircraft Engines, Dominique Dupuy, in Bengaluru in the presence of key officials from both companies on Thursday. HAL failure to anticipate EASA norms led to longer compliance checks: CAG

The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited applied for European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification of Helicopter 1 in 2009 to enhance its export potential to European countries, but failed to anticipate stringent requirements of EASA which took longer time for compliance and a consequential additional fee, a CAG report has found. The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG)- Union Government (Public Sector Undertakings Ministry of Defence) for the year ended March 2020 Report No 18 of 2023 was presented in Parliament on Thursday, according to an official statement. "The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) also failed to identify technical experts to avail consultancy services for timely compliance of the stringent requirements of EASA. The expenditure of Rs 108.24 crore incurred was impaired," it said. HAL, Argentinian aerospace firm FAdeA to explore collaboration in MRO space

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Argentina's Fabrica Argentina de Aviones (FAdeA) signed an MoU towards exploring the possibilities of collaboration in the field of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). The agreement will also involve meeting any offset requirements in case of probable sale of HAL-made platforms in Latin American region. The pact was inked during the ongoing Paris Air Show 2023, Bengaluru-headquartered state-run company HAL said in a statement on Wednesday. Similar to HAL, FAdeA is an Argentinian state-owned aerospace company under the administrative supervision of the South American country's Ministry of Defence involved in design, manufacture and maintenance of civil and military aircraft, it was noted.
