Three women pilgrims dead, 26 hurt as bus falls into gorge in Uttarakhand

Three women died while 26 were injured when a bus driver lost control over the vehicle and it fell into a gorge near Gangnani on the Gangotri National Highway in Uttarakhand, police said on Wednesday. According to them, the incident occurred 50 km from Gangnani on Tuesday night. The bus went out of the driver's control, broke the crash barrier, tumbled down the gorge and got stuck on a tree before it could hit the bottom, police officials said. A lot of lives were saved since it got stuck in the tree and did not fall into the Bhagirathi river, an official said. The bus was going towards Uttarkashi from Gangotri with 29 people, including the driver and his assistant, a police officer said, adding rescue and relief work began promptly. According to the officer, the injured were brought out of the bus through the windows and sent to Uttarkashi District Hospital and Bhatwadi Health Centre. 11 structural medical facilities under construction in Delhi: Survey

Eleven structural medical facilities, including new hospitals, are under construction at present in the national capital, while several other existing hospitals are also being upgraded with more infrastructure, according to the latest Delhi Economic Survey. A report on the survey was presented by Delhi Finance Minister Atishi in the Assembly on Friday. It also said that during the current fiscal year, 7,493 dengue cases were reported in Delhi till November 25 and a total of seven dengue deaths have been reported during the same period. The survey shared data on birth and death rates as well. The birth rate in Delhi had increased to 14.24 per thousand of population during 2022 as against 13.13 for the year 2021. The death rate per thousand of population had declined to 6.07 during 2022 as against 8.28 in 2021. Family Health Centre opened in Kerala's Edamalakudi, first tribal panchayat

The Kerala government opened a family health centre at Edamalakudi, the first tribal panchayat in the southern state, on Thursday. The health centre was opened as part of the second 100 days programme of the CPI (M)-led LDF government, which completed two years in power on May 20. Officials said the facility has been made a reality by spending Rs 1.25 crore. Health Minister Veena George, who inaugurated the family health centre, said the facility was established in the tribal panchayat as part of the government's policy to provide quality treatment and health services for all. She said the government is committed to ensuring better health infrastructure and services to the people. Edamalakudy is the first tribal panchayat of the state and is located about 30 kilometres away from the tourist town of Munnar in Idukki district.
