Health and hygiene products maker Eureka Forbes Ltd on Thursday reported a 26.37 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 32.15 crore for the first quarter ending June. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 25.44 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing by the firm now controlled by private equity firm Advent International. Its revenue from operation was up 9.61 per cent to Rs 553.37 crore during the quarter under review. It was at Rs 504.81 crore in the corresponding quarter. Eureka Forbes' total expenses increased 8.77 per cent to Rs 512.53 crore in the June quarter. Total income of Eureka Forbes was up 9.64 per cent at Rs 555.71 crore in the June quarter. The coverage was the lowest in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu at 48.03 per cent. Max Healthcare Institute on Thursday said its profit after tax rose marginally to Rs 295 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2024. Maharashtra Minister Tanaji Sawant on Monday said dental treatment will now be covered under the Pradhan Mantra Jan Aarogya and Mahatma Phule Jan Aarogya schemes. The state public health minister made the announcement while responding to a question from legislator Satyajeet Tambe in the state legislative council. This expansion broadens the coverage of the two schemes that provide a wide range of medical treatments free of cost at government-recognised hospitals. "Currently, 1,000 private and state-run hospitals are recognised under the schemes. With the latest decision, 900 more hospitals will be included. The expansion is expected to be completed by July 31," Sawant said. The state government is also working on developing an anti-fraud application to prevent hospitals from submitting bogus bills, he said.
