Hero MotoCorp on Tuesday said it is planning to enter Europe and the UK markets from the second half of 2025 as it looks to further consolidate its presence overseas. The New Delhi-headquartered two-wheeler major sells its products in 48 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Hero MotoCorp on Tuesday said its wholesales increased 19 per cent year-on-year to 6,37,050 units in September. The two-wheeler major had dispatched 5,36,499 units to dealers in September 2023. The company said its domestic sales rose to 6,16,706 units last month from 5,19,789 units in the year-ago period. Exports rose to 20,344 units last month compared to 16,710 units in the same month last year. "A positive sentiment is prevalent in the industry as it approaches the festive season on the back of a good monsoon," the company said in a statement. The company is geared up with a host of customer offers in line with previous festive periods across its wide portfolio, it added. The company said it has a strong pipeline of bookings and is experiencing increased customer footfall leading up to the festive season. The two-wheeler major expects healthy growth during the 32-day period starting from October 3, it noted.
Hero Motors Ltd, the auto-components firm of the Hero Motors Company (HMC) Group, on Saturday filed preliminary papers with markets regulator Sebi to raise Rs 900 crore through an initial public offering (IPO). The IPO is a combination of a fresh issue of equity shares worth Rs 500 crore and an Offer-For-Sale (OFS) of shares valued at Rs 400 crore by promoters, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). The OFS includes Rs 250 crore worth of shares by O P Munjal Holdings, and Rs 75 crore each by Bhagyoday Investments and Hero Cycles. The company may consider a pre-IPO placement of Rs 100 crore. If such placement is completed, the fresh issue size will be reduced. Proceeds from the fresh issue to the tune of Rs 202 crore will be used for debt payment, Rs 124 crore for purchase of equipment required for expansion in capacity of the company's facility in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Hero MotoCorp on Thursday said it has commenced operations in the Philippines. The strategic expansion marks a significant milestone in the company's efforts to strengthen its global presence, it said in a statement. The Delhi High Court on Wednesday quashed a summons issued to Hero Motocorp chairman Pawan Kant Munjal in a case registered by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) relating to foreign currency. The high court passed the order on Munjal's plea seeking quashing and setting aside of a trial court's July 1, 2023 order by which the summons was issued against him for alleged offences under the Customs Act. "The petition is allowed. Summoning order is quashed," Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri said while pronouncing the order. In November last year, the high court had stayed the proceedings relating to foreign currency lodged against Munjal by the DRI. The high court, in its interim order, had noted that Munjal was exonerated by the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) on the same set of facts and this was not disclosed before the trial court and that the petitioner had successfully made out a case for interim protection. Hero MotoCorp on Monday said it will hike prices of select motorcycle and scooter models by up to Rs 1,500 with effect from July 1, 2024 in order to partially offset the impact of higher input costs. The price revision will be up to Rs 1,500 and the exact quantum of increase will vary by specific model and market, the country's largest two-wheeler maker said in a statement. "The revision has been necessitated to partially offset the impact of higher input costs," it added. Hero MotoCorp sells a range of bikes including high selling Splendor range, HF Deluxe and Glamour. Scooter range includes Xoom and Destini 125 XTEC. Shares of Hero MotoCorp were trading 0.46 per cent up at Rs 5,477.20 apiece on the BSE.
Hero MotoCorp on Thursday said it will acquire an additional 2.2 per cent stake in Ather Energy for Rs 124 crore. Investment is being made in the form of purchase of additional shares from an existing shareholder of Ather Energy for acquisition of up to 2.2 per cent, Hero MotoCorp said in a regulatory filing. The acquisition entails an investment of up to Rs 124 crore and is expected to be completed by July 31, 2024, it added. Hero MotoCorp currently holds a 39.7 per cent stake in Ather Energy. Bengaluru-based Ather Energy is engaged in designing, manufacturing, producing, selling, servicing, software development, and software management, in relation to electric automobiles and charging infrastructure. The company is also engaged in storage, distribution, and management systems of electric power (including energy in the form of batteries) and other ancillary services. Hero Realty Pvt Ltd (HRPL) on Friday said it has appointed Madhur Gupta as its Chief Executive Officer. Before joining Hero Realty, Gupta was CEO of Hero Steels Ltd, a part of Hero Enterprise, according to a statement. "His diverse background in the mining and metals industry and his strong proficiency in procurement, engineering, business development, project engineering, and supply chain management position him perfectly to lead HRPL into a new era of growth and innovation," it said. Gupta holds a degree in mechanical engineering and is also an alumnus of IIM Lucknow. Gupta's appointment follows resignation of Hero Realty's CEO Dharmesh Shah earlier this month. With an aim to accelerate its electrification journey, Hero MotoCorp plans to bring three new electric two-wheelers in the next one year, company CEO Niranjan Gupta said on Tuesday. The company, which unveiled its new performance bike MAVRICK 440, is also ramping up production to 10,000 units a month to meet demand for motorcycles in the segment. "In FY25, we will launch electric scooters in the mid-price segment and in the economy segment to extend our Vida range," Gupta said in an interaction on the sidelines of the Hero World 2024 event here. Further, he said, "We will be launching another electric two-wheeler in the B2B last mile delivery segment, which is a big segment," he added.
