The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Friday said it will increase the prices of its motorcycles and scooters by up to Rs 1,500, with effect from December 1. The price will increase up to Rs 1,500, and the exact quantum of the hike will vary by specific models and markets, the company said in a statement. "The upward revision of the prices of our motorcycles and scooters has been necessitated due to overall inflationary costs," Hero MotoCorp Chief Financial Officer Niranjan Gupta said. The company will continue to provide innovative financing solutions in order to cushion the impact on the customers, he added. "We have also put in place accelerated savings programmes, which will help us to offset any further cost impact, and drive improvement in margins," the two-wheeler major said. Moving forward, the economic indicators are favourable to a growth in demand, and the company expects industry volumes to pick up in coming quarters, it added.
The mid-segment bike will be the first among several models planned, will be sold separately by both companies under their own brands
Hero MotoCorp on Monday said it has opened its first experience centre in Bengaluru for its electric two-wheeler brand VIDA. The country's largest two-wheeler maker said it has also commenced customer test-rides of the VIDA V1 electric scooter from Monday. VIDA plans to open experience centres next in Jaipur and then Delhi with customer deliveries of the V1 scooter expected to commence from the second week of December, it added. The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Tuesday reported a 17 per cent dip in its total sales at 4,54,582 units last month as compared with 5,47,970 units in October 2021. In the domestic market the company's dispatches to dealers stood at 4,42,825 units, down 16 per cent from 5,27,779 units in the year-ago period. "With festivals of Dussehra and Diwali -- which triggers record retail buying -- occurring in the month of October this year, the dispatch sales of October are not comparable to the previous years, when the festival days are usually spread across the months of October and November," the two-wheeler major noted. Exports stood at 11,757 units as against 20,191 units in October 2021.

Two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday announced its plans to enter the Philippines for which it has partnered with Terrafirma Motors Corporation for assembly and distribution of its vehicles. A part of the Columbian Group of Companies, Terrafirma Motors Corporation (TMC) will be the exclusive assembler and distributor of Hero MotoCorp motorcycles in the Philippines, the company said in a regulatory filing. TMC will set up an assembly facility of 29,000 square metres in its existing principal manufacturing facility situated in Laguna City and will start its operations in the second half of fiscal year 2024, it added. "In keeping with our R4 (recalibrate, revitalise, revolutionise and revive) strategy, we are always keenly exploring new opportunities in global markets.
