Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery on Tuesday announced that it would invest Rs 200 crore in its two manufacturing plants to stay ahead of the curve in quality, innovation and localisation. The company, a 40:60 joint venture between Tata and Hitachi of Japan, aims at ramping up localisation levels to 70 per cent over the next 2-3 years, its Managing Director Sandeep Singh said. The company plans to produce 60-tonne dump trucks in India, leveraging technology from Hitachi Canada, primarily used for the mining industry, he said. Additionally, the company intends to introduce more models in India as part of the 'Atmanirbhar' (self-reliant) policy started long back, the official said. "We will invest a total of Rs 200 crore in our two plants in West Bengal's Kharagpur and Dharwad in Karnataka. This will help us stay at the forefront of innovation and increase self-reliance (Atamnirbharta) to 70 per cent in 2-3 years from the current 65 per cent," Singh said. The company is celebratin

Karnataka signs MoUs worth Rs 23,000 cr at WEF meet: Minister Patil

Karnataka government has signed eight MoUs worth Rs 23,000 crore with global companies at the recently concluded World Economic Forum meet at Davos in Switzerland, Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil said on Wednesday. A Karnataka delegation, which he led, engaged in over 50 meetings with global industry leaders in Davos. "Karnataka successfully signed eight MoUs worth Rs 23,000 crore with global companies. Noteworthy agreements include Web Werks' Rs 20,000 crore investment for a hyper-scale data centre and Microsoft's commitment to digital skilling interventions," Patil told reporters here. Hitachi Energy India posts multi-fold rise in Q3 net profit at Rs 23 crore

Hitachi Energy India posted a multi-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 23 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2023 on higher revenues. "Profit after tax (net profit) was at Rs 23 crore (in October-December 2023), clocking a recovery of 400 per cent year-on-year on a low base," a company statement said. In the October-December period of 2022, Hitachi Energy India had reported a net profit of Rs 4.6 crore. "Technologies and market innovations are playing a pivotal role in navigating the complexities of the evolving energy landscape. These have further expedited the pace of energy transition across sectors, helping us sustain our growth this quarter," said N Venu, Managing Director and CEO, Hitachi Energy India Ltd in the statement. Hitachi Energy India net profit up 31% to Rs 52 cr in March quarter

Hitachi Energy India on Friday posted an over 31 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 51.68 crore for the March quarter, mainly on the back of higher revenues. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 39.44 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2021, a BSE filing showed. Total income in the quarter under review rose to Rs 1,142.13 crore from Rs 1,023.77 crore in the year-ago period. The company follows the January to December fiscal year. The board of directors recommended a dividend of Rs 3 per share (150 per cent), subject to the approval of members at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting. It also re-appointed N Venu as managing director and CEO of the company for a further period of five years commencing December 2, 2022. Besides, the board reappointed the independent directors -- Akila Krishnakumar, Nishi Vasudeva and Mukesh Butani -- for a second term of five years commencing December 24, 2022.
