Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India on Tuesday reported a 3.97 per cent increase in total sales at 4,49,391 units in October 2022. The company had sold 4,32,229 units in the same month last year, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. In the domestic market, sales were at 4,25,969 units as against 3,94,645 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 7.94 per cent. Exports were lower by 37.68 per cent at 23,422 units as compared to 37,584 units in October last year. "This year's festival season has ushered in a period of real growth & positive sentiment after a challenging period of two-years," HMSI Managing Director, President and CEO Atsushi Ogata said.
During FY22, HMSI exported 332,942 units to various countries mainly Bangladesh, Nepal, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Japan, Peru, UAE, El Salvador and Italy

Honda Motorcycle Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday said its total vehicle sales were up by 15 per cent at 4,43,643 units in July. The same stood at 3,84,920 units in the year-ago period. Domestic sales grew 18 per cent to 4,02,701 units in the previous month compared to 3,40,420 vehicles sold in July 2021, the company said in a statement. The exports, however, declined 8 per cent at 40,942 units in the last month, it stated. HMSI Managing Director, CEO and President, Atsushi Ogata said that factors such as good monsoon and increased demand for personal mobility has translated well to rise in customer walk-ins and enquiries. With the coming festive season, the company expects to regain the growth momentum at a faster rate, Ogata added.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Tuesday said its total sales declined by 19.97 per cent to 3,54,209 in January 2022. The two-wheeler maker had dispatched 4,37,183 units in January 2021. "While the calendar year 2022 has started on a positive note compared to last month, the sales sentiment in Q4'22 continues to reflect the preceding challenges of last fiscal year," HMSI Director (Sales & Marketing) Yadvinder Singh Guleria said in a statement. However, visible signs of healthy recovery do appear on the horizon and the company is hopeful the speedy implementation in vaccinations, dip in daily COVID cases being reported and easing of restrictions across states will help gain momentum in upcoming quarters, he added. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Wednesday launched its new bike CB300R priced at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings for the bike are open from Wednesday for the new CB300R at Honda's exclusive premium BigWing and BigWing Topline dealerships across India, HMSI said in a statement. The new CB300R is powered by a 286cc 4-valve liquid cooled single cylinder engine. It comes equipped with an assist and slipper clutch, which provides an assist function for clutch operations requiring less load compared to a regular clutch mechanism. The slipper function reduces unpleasant shocks caused by sudden engine braking during downshifts, ensuring less fatigue and more comfort for a variety of rides, the company said. Two-wheeler major Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is gearing up to launch its first electric product in the country in the next financial year, a top company official has said. The company, which sells popular models like Activa and Shine in the country, aims to start feasibility run of the electric scooter with its dealer partners at the end of the festive season this year. In an interaction with PTI, HMSI President, Managing Director and CEO Atsushi Ogata said the company has decided to foray into the segment after having a detailed discussion with its parent firm -- Honda Motor Company in Japan. In-depth details are yet to be finalised but "we have made a commitment to launch (EV product) within the next financial year", he noted. The company had sold 4,43,969 units in the same month last year. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said entering the festival season with a steady recovery in economic activity, the company's total sales stood at 4,30,683 units, including 4,01,469 domestic sales and 29,214 exports in August 2021. The company had sold 245,716 units in the same month last year when sales were impacted by coronavirus-induced lockdown. Exports stood at 16,000 last month, HMSI said in a statement. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday reported a 29 per cent increase in total sales at 4,42,696 units in February. The company had sold a total 3,42,021 units in the same month last year, HMSI said in a statement. Domestic sales last month stood at 4,11,578 units as against 3,15,285 units in February 2020, a growth of 31 per cent, it added. "While the industry growth is expected to hover near the double digits in Q4 and upcoming Q1 due to the low base of BSVI transition, Honda continues to drive the 2Wheeler demand recovery for second straight month of 2021," HMSI Director (Sales and Marketing) Yadvinder Singh Guleria said. The company is confident of maintaining the positive sales momentum in coming months too, with three new models (CB350RS, 2021 Africa Twin Adventure Sports, Grazia sports edition) exciting the market, he added. The two-wheeler major said its exports grew 16 per cent last month to 31,118 units as compared with the year-ago period.
