DPR for Joshimath reconstruction to finish; town to be 100% safe: Official

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for reconstruction work to be carried out in land subsidence-hit Jyotirmath (Joshimath) is almost complete and will be sent to the Centre for approval this month after being examined by IIT-Roorkee. The information was given by Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman at a meeting with the affected people in Jyotirmath on Tuesday. The DPR for sewerage, drainage, drain improvement and protection works in Jyotirmath is almost complete. After being examined by IIT-Roorkee, the DPR will be sent to the government of India, they said. The officials said Jyotirmath will be 100 per cent safe after the completion of the sewerage, drainage and drain construction work in the town and the toe-protection work on the banks of the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers in Vishnu Prayag, they said. TPDDL, IIT-Roorkee sign MoU for development of energy saving solutions

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (TPDDL) on Tuesday said it has signed an agreement with IIT-Roorkee to conduct research and develop solutions for optimal use of energy. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between TPDDL CEO Ganesh Srinivasan and M K Singhal, Head of Department, Hydro and Renewable Energy at IIT Roorkee. "TPDDL and IIT Roorkee signed a MoU to research and develop pioneering solutions for optimal use of energy, leading to greener and sustainable future through its Urja Arpan initiative," the company said in a statement. Servotech Power Systems, IIT-Roorkee enter pact to develop e-chargers

Servotech Power Systems Ltd (SPSL) on Wednesday said it has inked an agreement with IIT-Roorkee to develop onboard e-chargers for battery-operated two-, three- and four-wheelers. Another pact with the premier institute aims to develop rectifier units that find applications through imports, SPSL said in a statement. "SPSL has signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with IIT Roorkee to develop state-of-the-art rectifier units for CCS2 chargers and onboard EV chargers for two, three and four-wheelers," the statement said. The rectifier unit is an integral component of the CCS2 (combined charging system) charger that is currently imported and the collaboration will boost domestic manufacturing capabilities and promote the growth of the domestic EV industry. New research centre at IIT Roorkee for futuristic defence tech requirements
