Several women in Himachal Pradesh are receiving training to operate drones for agricultural purpose with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi launching "Drone Didi", a one-of-its-kind skill development programme. According to officials, the agricultural drone applications will save time and pesticide and are very cost-effective. This will also reduce the impact of pesticides on human health. Participants are being trained to leverage drone technology for enhanced agricultural practices. "Our vision is to create a paradigm shift in agricultural practices through the empowerment of women. A student of IIT-BHU was allegedly molested and stripped by three motorcycle-borne men, who also recorded a video of the act, near her hostel here, police said on Thursday. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) students on Thursday held a protest. They claimed outside elements were involved in the incident and demanded that outsiders be banned from entering the campus. According to a complaint lodged by the woman, she was out with a friend on Wednesday night. They were near the Karman Baba temple when three men came there on a motorcycle and forcibly took her to a corner and gagged her after separating her from her friend. Researchers at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi and National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA) in France have developed advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and signal processing techniques to accurately predict structural health of bridges and other structures. These AI-based algorithms have broad applications, not limited to bridges alone, and can be extended to structures such as ropeways, buildings, aerospace structures, transmission towers, and various infrastructure elements requiring periodic health assessments and protection measures, the researchers claimed. According to officials, there are over 13,500 bridges across India. "These structures undergo natural ageing due to environmental factors like temperature fluctuations, and water and air exposure, compounded by heavy road traffic. Traditionally, assessing bridge conditions has relied on visual inspections, a method considered inadequate by experts. "It falls short in detecting

A senior Minister confused Newton and Einstein while another justified excluding Darwin from textbooks. "Now, this simply flabbergasting statement from the Director of a prestigious institution!!! He actually has shown he is not fit to hold the position. The longer he stays, more the damage he will do to the spirit of scientific temper," Ramesh posted. It has a symbiotic relationship with the degradation of the environment as well... which you cannot see right now but is there... "To become good human beings, what you have to do? No to meat eating," he further said and then went on to ask the students to vow not to eat meat.
