A bipartisan group of US lawmakers are travelling to India to participate in the Red Ford address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15 among other things, according to an official statement. The bi-partisan Congressional delegation is led by Indian-American Congressman Ro Khanna and Congressman Michael Waltz. The two are co-chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans. The lawmakers will visit Red Fort where the Prime Minister will address the nation on August 15th, India's Independence Day. They will meet with business, tech, government, and Bollywood leaders in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and New Delhi and visit Raj Ghat, a historic memorial dedicated to Gandhi, the media release said. Monsoon session may begin in July 3rd week, may move to new building midway

The monsoon session is likely to commence in the third week of July, with sittings beginning in the old Parliament building and moving to the new building midway, Parliamentary sources said on Wednesday. The new building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28. The nearly month-long monsoon session is likely to have 20 sittings and would conclude before Independence Day. While the session will commence in the old Parliament building, it is likely to be move to the new Parliament later, they said. During the session, the government is likely to bring a bill to replace the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Ordinance which effectively nullified the Supreme Court judgement that gave the city government greater legislative and administrative control over "services" matter. The government will try an early passage of the bill. The National Research Foundation Bill, cleared by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday, is also likely to be introduced.

NIMAS cycling expedition connects people across 6 ASEAN countries

A four-member team of cyclists completed 53,000 kilometres across six ASEAN countries in over a month as part of an expedition undertaken to commemorate 75 years of India's Independence and celebrate the country's G20 Presidency. A day before the126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, his daughter, Anita Bose Pfaff, on Sunday said the revolutionary leader, in his struggle for India's Independence, was forced to seek the cooperation of fascist countries which did not share his ideology.
