Kerala launches new training programme benefiting over 800K students

The state-run Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) has launched an ambitious initiative to provide support and guidance to over 8,00,000 students from public schools as they prepare for various undergraduate entrance examinations. ADB asks Pakistan to adopt Indian scheme ULLAS to fix its education system

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has advised Pakistan to adopt India's scheme ULLAS to fix its dysfunctional education system and impart quality training to its citizens, according to a media report. The Manila-based lender's recommendation came in response to Pakistan's request for financial support to improve its education system and impart education to all out-of-school children, The Express Tribune newspaper said. Over three-fourth of wealthy Indians have sent or are planning to send their kids overseas for education, according to a survey. The survey of 1,456 Indians, having investable surplus between Rs 84 lakh (USD 100,000) and nearly Rs 17 crore (USD 2 million), conducted in March found the strong urge for overseas education with 78 per cent of the respondents saying they are keen on a foreign education for their children.
