Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday said that almost all states are implementing the National Education Policy 2020. He said that even the states that seem reluctant are indeed implementing the policy although they are using different terminology. "I am happy. Let them be satisfied with using different terminology. But, with full responsibility I can say almost all states are implementing National Education Policy 2020 which is a very philosophical and historical document," he told reporters when asked about the present status of NEP 2020 and the number of states implementing it. The High Court of Karnataka has held that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is liable to pay service tax on the computer education for students of economically weaker sections it had outsourced to a private agency.Rejecting the contention of the civic body that it was exempted from paying service tax, the HC in its judgement said, the Corporation availing the services of the petitioners to render computer education to persons belonging to economically weaker section as regards which the Corporation has made the payment of monies to the petitioners would be amenable to service tax, that is to say, it is not exempted from service tax. Political parties in Kashmir on Friday alleged that authorities are not accepting class 10 examination forms from students of private schools established on state land, a charge denied by the J-K Board of School Education. The parties' reaction came after a media report claimed that the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) had refused to accept examination forms from students of class 10 enrolled in private schools established on state land. This is "not true" and examination forms are not being rejected, JKBOSE Chairman Parikshat Singh Manhas told PTI. "The examination forms are not being rejected.
