Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said that a government accommodation will soon be allotted to AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, which he is entitled to as the chief of a national party.
Responding to a question at a press conference, Khattar said that as the president of a national party, Kejriwal is entitled to a Type VII bungalow.
However, all Type VII bungalows are currently occupied, he added.
"At present, we only have Type V and VI bungalows available, but there is currently no availability of Type VII bungalows. Kejriwal will be allotted a Type VII bungalow as soon as it is available," Khattar said
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been demanding a central government accommodation for Kejriwal, asserting that he is entitled to it as the convenor of a national party.
The party recently sent a letter to the Union Housing Ministry reiterating this demand.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday exuded confidence that India's automobile industry will rise to the number one position globally in the next five years and outlined his ministry's ambitious target to also reduce the logistics costs in India to 9 per cent over two years.
Speaking at the Amazon Smbhav Summit, the Road Transport and Highways Minister noted the remarkable growth of India's automobile industry, which he said has surged from Rs 7 lakh crore to Rs 22 lakh crore since he took charge of office.
"First is USA -- Rs 78 lakh crore, second-largest automobile industry is in China--Rs 47 lakh crore, and now India is at Rs 22 lakh crore. I am confident that within 5 years, we want to make Indian automobile industry number 1 in the world," he said.
The minister said the presence of reputed global automobile brands in India is a clear indication of the country's potential.
He further articulated his ministry's target to reduce the logistics costs in India to a single digit .

India is in the process of providing viability gap funding for electrolyser manufacturing capacity of about 3,000 MW per annum to boost green hydrogen production in the country, Parliament was informed on Tuesday.
This assumes significance as India had launched the National Green Hydrogen Mission with an initial outlay of Rs 19,744 crore in January 2023.
The Mission aims to develop green hydrogen production capacity of at least 5 MMT (Million Metric Tonne) per annum with an associated renewable energy capacity addition of about 125 GW in the country.
"For Electrolyser Manufacturing, contracts have been awarded/are under process for a capacity of 3,000 MW per annum," Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha.
He further said for Green hydrogen production, capacity has been awarded for 4,12,000 tons per annum.
