Nooyi gets down to business in crucial meet with PM

Indra Nooyi, the India-born chairperson and chief executive of global multinational PepsiCo, discussed the company's investments in this country at a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. In the country for a week, the meeting saw Nooyi, 61, indicate how the company could grow, process and use more Indian-grown fruit juice in its products, something the prime minister has been asking food and beverage makers to do."We also discussed our launch of new Quaker Oats products that take traditional recipes and add whole-grain oats to help Indians start their day in a healthy way," Nooyi stated. "I also shared with the PM that PepsiCo was well-positioned to help the government deliver on the national development goals he has outlined for farmers and supporting their livelihoods."She also met commerce and industry minister Nirmala Sitharaman, tweeting it was an engaging conversation. Prior to this, Nooyi, who arrived in Delhi on Wednesday, reviewed local business operations .
