Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) President Vaibhav Gehlot resigned on Monday after a no-confidence motion was passed against him. Gehlot's resignation came after the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) sealed the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, which is to host IPL matches from next month, as well as RCA office on Friday for non payment of dues. "The RCA office was hastily locked. Now efforts have been started to create an atmosphere of distrust in the RCA by targeting me. Due to this, there is a possibility of spoiling the positive atmosphere of cricket in the state," Gehlot said in a statement. "In such a situation, it is unbearable for me that there should be any crisis on IPL matches in the state and cricket suffers loss. Therefore, to save the state's cricket and cricket players from this situation, I voluntarily resign from the post of RCA president." IPL 2024: Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Rajasthan cricket's office sealed by RSC

One month before the venue to host Indian Premier League matches, the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here has been sealed by the Rajasthan Sports Council which claimed that the state cricket body did not fulfil its liabilities, including payment of dues. Rajasthan Cricket Association's (RCA) office and its academy were also sealed, along with the stadium. Rajasthan Sports Council secretary Sohan Ram Choudhary had served a notice to the RCA for handing over the property to the state council on Friday, but it did not happen. Since the handover did not happen, the state sports council went on to seal the properties owing to RCA's alleged failure of not being able to fulfil its conditions as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and non-payment of dues. Changi Airport looks at Jaipur-Lucknow as passenger generating destination

Singapore's Changi Airport Group (CAG) is looking at new destinations such as Jaipur and Lucknow for generating passenger traffic out of India, one of the bright spots for the city state's airport, according to a media report. Lim Ching Kiat, executive vice-president for air hub and cargo development at CAG, said that Changi Airport Group will work with airlines to add more capacity on high-demand routes by increasing frequencies or getting carriers to use bigger planes, The Straits Times reported.
