UK-based Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) luxury carmaker on Wednesday announced a major investment plan of GBP 15 billion over five years, backed up by a Gigafactory planned by Indian parent company Tata Group in Europe. JLR Chief Executive Adrian Mardell confirmed plans for the company's plant in Halewood, north-west England, to become an all-electric production facility as he reaffirmed the firm's commitment to the Reimagine strategy, which will reposition the luxury car manufacturer as an electric-first company by 2030. He also revealed that JLR would be the anchor customer of the Tata Group's proposed Gigafactory, an announcement related to which he said is hopefully imminent. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on Wednesday said it has launched updated version of Land Rover Discovery in the country with price starting at Rs 88.06 lakh (ex-showroom). The model comes with the latest generation of petrol and diesel engines, advanced infotainment system and superior comfort and practicality with seven seat configuration. "The new Discovery, while retaining Land Rover's legendary breadth of capability, offers renewed levels of refinement, luxury and efficiency which make it the best full-size SUV for the outdoors and adventure-filled journeys with the family," JLR India President and Managing Director Rohit Suri said in a statement. The Land Rover range in India includes the Range Rover Evoque (starting at Rs 59.04 lakh), Discovery Sport (starting at Rs 65.30 lakh), Defender 110 (Rs 83.38 lakh), Range Rover Sport ( Rs 91.27 lakh) and Range Rover (starting at Rs 2.10 crore). JLR sells its cars from 24 dealerships across the country.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India on Tuesday said it has commenced deliveries of new version of Range Rover Evoque in the country. The updated Evoque comes with 2-litre petrol and diesel powertrains. The 2-litre petrol engine delivers a power of 184 kW, while the 2-litre diesel engine generates 150 kW of power. The price of the model starts from Rs 64.12 lakh (ex-showroom). "Range Rover Evoque has always turned heads with its unique, modernistic and smart design.
