This comes in the wake of the arrest of BRS MLA Patnam Narender Reddy on Wednesday morning in connection with the attack on Vikarabad collector
Refuting the allegations levelled against him by BRS working president K T Rama Rao over AMRUT scheme tenders, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday dared the former to proceed legally on the matter. Talking to reporters in Delhi, Reddy said Rama Rao is trying to make a counter-attack, without responding to the investigation into allegations of corruption during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime in the southern state. "Investigation began into his corruption when he (Rama Rao) was in power. He wants to launch a counter-attack, without replying to that probe," the Congress leader said. Rama Rao is "making rounds of Delhi" as part of efforts to protect himself in case the governor gives permission to the state government to register an FIR against him, Reddy claimed. The BRS leader is making allegations against him to avoid a debate on his family's "loot", he added. "If there is anything in the tenders, let him fight legally. Who is stopping him?" the chief minis
BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Monday met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and submitted a letter alleging corruption involving Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's family in tenders related to AMRUT scheme. Rama Rao met Khattar in Delhi and presented his complaint, the BRS said here Monday night. Meanwhile, state Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy alleged that Rama Rao's Delhi trip was actually aimed at seeking the help of "Delhi bigwigs" as the BRS leader feels that the state government's request to lodge an FIR against him is expected to get the governor's nod soon. The Telangana government had written to Governor Jishnu Dev Varma seeking permission to register an FIR against Rama Rao over alleged irregularities during the previous BRS regime with regard to conducting the Formula-E race in Hyderabad. Rama Rao, who is an MLA now, was municipal administration minister in the BRS government.
BRS leader also alleged that Revanth Reddy was caught with a bag containing Rs 50 lakh in the past
BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Friday alleged a scam in the Musi river rejuvenation, claiming that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy-led Congress government in Telangana enhanced the project cost to Rs 1.50 lakh crore from Rs 16,000 crore planned by the previous BRS government. "We are posing many questions to Revanth Reddy. We hope he will answer those queries," he told PTI Videos. On Thursday, in a veiled attack on BRS, CM Revanth Reddy alleged that the opposition party is trying to stall the state government's Musi river rejuvenation project in the state capital. He had said those who "looted the state for 10 years like a daylight robbery" are now trying to create hurdles to the Musi project out of frustration of losing power. He had also appealed to BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, state BJP chief G Kishan Reddy and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi to submit their doubts on the Musi project in writing to the government. If they are not satisfied with the government's reply,

BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Tuesday conceded defeat after the party was not leading in any of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana but expressed confidence that it would rise like a phoenix. The ruling Congress and BJP appeared set to win eight seats each in the state as the counting of votes reached the final stages on Tuesday. AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi was set to retain the Hyderabad parliamentary constituency. The Lok Sabha polls was held in a single phase in the state on May 13. Rama Rao said in the last 24 years since TRS (now BRS) was founded, BRS has seen stellar achievements, successes and also many setbacks. "The greatest glory: formation of Telangana state will remain our Biggest achievement. Being a regional party won two consecutive state elections with a good majority 63/119 - 2014, 88/119 - 2018. Currently, the principal opposition with 1/3rd seats 39/119 - 2023," he said in a post on 'X'. "Today's electoral setback is certainly very disappointing. B
Against the backdrop of the Election Commission barring former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao from campaigning for 48 hours, his son and BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Thursday alleged that the poll body has been "extremely biased". He said the poll panel has been "looking the other way" when it comes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, but that is not the case with other leaders in the country. Talking about the EC ban on KCR, Rama Rao said that there was possibly a small emotional outburst when the former chief minister was speaking about the farmers and weavers (for which the action was taken by the EC). All that the EC could have done was probably censure KCR and ask him to not repeat, but it went on to ban him for 48 hours, he said. On the other hand, when Prime Minister Modi "goes about to the extent of disturbing the social harmony by saying very, very strange things against the Muslims having more children" and
A court here on Monday denied interim bail to BRS leader K Kavitha in the Delhi excise policy-related money laundering case. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja dismissed the plea, saying the stage was not right to enlarge her on interim bail. Kavitha had approached the court for interim bail, saying her 16-year-old son has exams and needs his mother's "moral and emotional support". The ED had opposed the submission, claiming Kavitha destroyed evidence and influenced witnesses in the case. The agency had alleged that Kavitha is a key member of the "South Group", which has been accused of paying the ruling AAP in Delhi kickbacks of Rs 100 crore in return for a big share of liquor licences in the national capital. Kavitha, 46, was arrested from her Banjara Hills residence on March 15 amid protests by BRS supporters. She was then sent to seven-day ED custody the next day. Her custodial interrogation was later extended by three days. She was sent to 14-day judicial custody last Tuesday.
The ruling Congress, BRS and BJP are leaving no stone unturned to put up an impressive show in the May 13 Lok Sabha polls in Telangana, prompting an intense 3-way fight in the southern state that saw a change of guard last year after a decade. Congress, fresh from its win in the 2023 Assembly polls, is keen to repeat the good show while BRS that ruled the state for 10 years and now suffering defections, is striving hard to reverse its fortunes. The BJP, energised with its better poll show-- in terms of seats and voteshare in 2023 state elections, is eager to make more electoral inroads. While the BJP and BRS have already announced their candidates for all the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, Congress has named its nominees to 14 so far. The Lok Sabha election is crucial for all the three parties, especially BRS which is facing an existential crisis of sorts following its unexpected defeat in the Assembly elections held in November last year. The election is also significan
BRS leader K T Rama Rao Sunday met his sister K Kavitha, who is in the Enforcement Directorate custody in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy case, at the agency office on Sunday. Kavitha, 46, was arrested from her Banjara Hills residence in Hyderabad on Friday and was brought to Delhi. She was produced before a special PMLA court the next day, which sent her to ED custody until March 23. While sending Kavitha to the ED custody, the court had allowed some relatives whom the court has named in its order, including brother KTR and husband Anil D, to meet her for half an hour every day between 6-7 pm during her remand period. Official sources said KTR met Kavitha as per this permission granted by the court. Kavitha, a member of the Telangana Legislative Council and daughter of former state chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, was on Saturday produced before Special Judge for ED cases M K Nagpal. The ED had sought her custody for 10 days. It is alleg

BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Saturday said people should not pay their power bills until the Congress government in Telangana provided free electricity under the 'Gruha Jyothi' scheme as per its election promise. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had said during the recent Assembly election campaign that party leader Sonia Gandhi would pay the electricity bills after the Congress came to power and people should send their bills to Sonia Gandhi's house at 10, Janpath in New Delhi, Rama Rao said. If officials ask for payment of power bills, Revnath Reddy's video should be shown, he said, addressing the BRS leaders of Hyderabad and Secunderabad Parliamentary constituencies as part of preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. "KTR stated that people should not pay the power bills until free electricity was provided under the Gruha Jyothi scheme as promised by Revanth Reddy," a release from his office said. The promise of 'Gruha Jyoti' includes 200 units of free electricity.
BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Saturday slammed the Congress government in Telangana over Formula E cancelling the Hyderabad E-Prix slated to be held on February 10. Rama Rao, who played a key role in bringing the race to Hyderabad as IT and Industries Minister during the previous BRS regime, said events like the Hyderabad E-Prix enhance the brand image of the city and the country. "This is truly a poor and regressive decision by the Congress government. Events like Hyderabad E-Prix enhance the brand image of our city and country across the world. We had put in a lot of effort and time to bring Formula E-Prix for the first time to India," Rama Rao said on social media platform X. The K Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS government had taken the initiative to use the Formula E Race as an occasion to also conduct a week-long electric vehicle (EV) Summit attracting enthusiasts, manufacturers and startups to showcase Hyderabad as an attractive investment destination, he noted. "We had al
