Work, family pressure hinders learning among 91% Indian workers: LinkedIn

Notwithstanding the fact that a significant percentage of professionals in India say that their company is doing enough to cultivate a culture of learning, 9 in 10 professionals find it hard to prioritise learning due to work and family commitments, says a report. According to new research by the leading professional network LinkedIn, 91 per cent of professionals in India face barriers such as feeling burnt out or family responsibilities that are getting in the way of their learning. In a bid to overcome barriers to upskilling, professionals are resorting to 'Loud Learning', the act of being vocal and intentional about learning ambitions in the workplace. TCS, Accenture, Cognizant lead LinkedIn's top large companies list

Tata Consultancy Services has topped the LinkedIn's latest list of top companies to work for in India, followed by Accenture and Cognizant in the second and third place respectively. Professional networking platform LinkedIn on Tuesday released the 2024 Top Companies list for India wherein IT companies bagged the top three ranks, while financial services firms dominated the list with 9 out of 25 companies from this sector. The 8th edition has derived insights from LinkedIn data, and lists the top 25 large companies, 15 best mid-size companies, and provides insights on in-demand skills, top locations, and the largest job functions within these companies. Indian professionals lapping up AI skills to remain adaptable: LinkedIn

Indian professionals are embracing AI skills amid rising prominence of Artificial Intelligence in the world of work, and the number of such skilled personnel has increased 14 times since 2016, LinkedIn said in a report on Thursday. According to LinkedIn's first ever global 'Future of Work: State of Work @ AI' report, AI-skilled members in India increased 14 times in June 2023 compared to January 2016. This growth puts India in the top five countries for AI talent increase, alongside Singapore, Finland, Ireland, and Canada, the report said. Tata Consultancy Services has emerged as the top company in a list, which showcases the best places to work and grow careers, for 2023. TCS is followed by Amazon (2) and Morgan Stanley (3) in the '2023 Top Companies India' list prepared by LinkedIn. Online professional network LinkedIn on Wednesday released a list of the top 25 start-ups in India that have shown resilience in an uncertain market environment, and are continuing to innovate in 2022. Topping this year's list is unified payments interface CRED. Valued at USD 6.4 billion, this young start-up maintained its podium position on the LinkedIn Top Startups list, moving from the third spot in 2021 to number one in 2022. Nearly two-third of India's working women (66 per cent) feel that gender equality has improved compared to their parents age, according to a research study by professional network LinkedIn.
