Changi Airport looks at Jaipur-Lucknow as passenger generating destination

Singapore's Changi Airport Group (CAG) is looking at new destinations such as Jaipur and Lucknow for generating passenger traffic out of India, one of the bright spots for the city state's airport, according to a media report. Lim Ching Kiat, executive vice-president for air hub and cargo development at CAG, said that Changi Airport Group will work with airlines to add more capacity on high-demand routes by increasing frequencies or getting carriers to use bigger planes, The Straits Times reported. The Lucknow University has rescheduled examinations slated for January 22, the day of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The exams scheduled for January 22 have been postponed and the new dates announced, a senior university official said on Wednesday. After Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a holiday in all academic institutions across the state on January 22, the university has also postponed the examinations on the day, he said. The Congress accused the Narendra Modi government of putting the country under Emergency and called on the people to unite against the BJP government, as it concluded its 18-day Uttar Pradesh Jodo Yatra here on Saturday. Max Healthcare to acquire Starlit Medical Centre in Rs 940 crore deal

Max Healthcare Institute Ltd on Friday said it will fully acquire Starlit Medical Centre Pvt Ltd for an enterprise value of Rs 940 crore thereby giving it the ownership of 550-bedded Sahara Hospital in Lucknow. The company has executed a binding share purchase agreement (SPA) for the acquisition of 100 per cent stake of Starlit Medical Centre Pvt Ltd, which had entered into a business transfer agreement with Sahara India Medical Institute Ltd for purchase of healthcare undertaking consisting of 550-bedded Sahara Hospital, Lucknow, on a slump sale basis, Max Healthcare Institute said in a statement. The SPA was executed for an enterprise value of Rs 940 crore through one of the company's wholly-owned subsidiaries, Crosslay Remedies Ltd (CRL), it added. Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar on Saturday said funds amounting to Rs 17,225 crore have been disbursed to provide support and empower more than 54 lakh individuals from marginalised sections across the country.
