BJP chief JP Nadda is in Lucknow to participate in the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' on Sunday. Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November, the yatra is aimed at attaining saturation of flagship schemes of the government by ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a time-bound manner. Max Healthcare to acquire Starlit Medical Centre in Rs 940 crore deal

Max Healthcare Institute Ltd on Friday said it will fully acquire Starlit Medical Centre Pvt Ltd for an enterprise value of Rs 940 crore thereby giving it the ownership of 550-bedded Sahara Hospital in Lucknow. The company has executed a binding share purchase agreement (SPA) for the acquisition of 100 per cent stake of Starlit Medical Centre Pvt Ltd, which had entered into a business transfer agreement with Sahara India Medical Institute Ltd for purchase of healthcare undertaking consisting of 550-bedded Sahara Hospital, Lucknow, on a slump sale basis, Max Healthcare Institute said in a statement. The SPA was executed for an enterprise value of Rs 940 crore through one of the company's wholly-owned subsidiaries, Crosslay Remedies Ltd (CRL), it added. Rs 17,225 cr disbursed to support 5.4 mn marginalised people: Minister

Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar on Saturday said funds amounting to Rs 17,225 crore have been disbursed to provide support and empower more than 54 lakh individuals from marginalised sections across the country. According to a press statement, Kumar inaugurated the Shilp Samagam Mela at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. 24 pilgrims from West Bengal wounded in bus accident near Lucknow

Two dozen people were injured when a private tourist bus carrying over 60 pilgrims from Medinipur, West Bengal fell into a roadside ditch on the Bareilly-Lucknow national highway at Jang Bahadur Ganj (JB Ganj) bypass near Allipur village on Saturday morning, police said. Ten of the wounded were transported to the neighbouring Shahjahanpur district for treatment, JB Ganj police outpost in-charge Hemant Katiyar told PTI. The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has held that recorded phone conversation is an admissible piece of evidence and it cannot be discarded even if obtained illegally. "The communication between the mobile phones of two accused persons when recorded on a digital voice recorder after putting the call on speaker, will not amount to interception," the bench said on Wednesday. A bench of justice Subhash Vidyarthi made the observation, passing an order on a revision plea moved by Mahant Prasad Ram Tripathi, a former CEO of Fatehgarh Cantonment Board. The petitioner had approached the HC against the trial court's order which rejected his discharge application seeking clean chit in a bribery case. Lucknow next industrial, logistic hub; to generate 70K jobs in 5 yrs: CBRE

Lucknow region is emerging as a key industrial and logistics hub in North India after Delhi-NCR as the warehousing sector is estimated to generate 70,000 direct employment opportunities over the next five years, according to property consultant CBRE. In a statement on Thursday, CBRE South Asia said that Lucknow region has witnessed about Rs 400 crore of investment by leading players like Amazon, Mondelez and Flipkart in the last five years, and an additional Rs 70 crore investment is expected in the development of warehouses in the city. The demand for quality warehousing space has consistently grown in Lucknow over the past five years and attained record levels in FY23, the consultant said. Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat to run 6 days a week, halt at Ayodhya, Basti

The Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express, to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, will run six days a week, barring Saturdays, with a little over 550 passengers, officials have said. On Friday, the semi-high speed train will begin its journey from Gorakhpur following the inauguration and reach Lucknow Junction via halts at Sahjanwa, Khalilabad, Basti, Babhnan, Mankapur, Ayodhya and Barabanki, they said. Modi will flag off the train from Gorakhpur around 3.40 pm, the officials added. The Indian Railways has already started accepting bookings for the train, to be run by North Eastern Railway. The train will include seven chair cars and one executive-class coach and will accommodate 556 people. The base fare for the chair car is Rs 724 while a seat on the executive class will cost Rs 1,470 per passenger for the journey from Gorakhpur to Lucknow. The passengers will be provided with meals, snacks and tea by the IRCTC. From July 9, when the train begins regular .

IndiGo adds flights to Abu Dhabi, Dubai from Lucknow airport from July 12

IndiGo will add two non-stop daily flights to Abu Dhabi and Dubai from the Lucknow airport starting July 12, officials said on Friday. After the flights to Abu Dhabi and Dubai are added both onward and return the average international flights at the airport will increase from 13 to 17 flights per day, a Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA) spokesperson said in a statement. "Abu Dhabi will be the new destination for Indigo from Lucknow, while the airline will be re-starting its operations to Dubai from July 12. Last month, Lucknow airport added two flights to Dammam and with addition of four flights to Abu Dhabi and Dubai from next month, the total average international flights will go up to 17 from 13 flights per day," CCSIA said.
