The Madhya Pradesh government has given its consent to hand over for the next five years the operations of the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation and the milk unions affiliated to it to the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday here in Bhopal. The opposition Congress, however, resisted the move, claiming that it was Gujarat co-operative dairy Amul's "backdoor" attempts to take over MP's state-run milk brand Sanchi. "During the meeting, it was agreed that the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation and its associated milk unions will be managed and operated by the NDDB for the next five years. For this, necessary approvals will be obtained and legal action will be taken," an official release said. With the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) granting operating licence to the airport at Rewa, Madhya Pradesh's Vindhya region will get a much-needed boost to expand economic and regional connectivity, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said. A procession carrying an idol of Lord Ganesh in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam faced stone-pelting following which heavy security was deployed at important places in the city, police said on Sunday. The incident took place in Mochipura area on Saturday night when some people were carrying the deity's idol for installation as part of the 10-day Ganesh festival. Later, when police reached the spot, their vehicle was damaged in the subsequent stone-pelting, an official said. The situation is currently under control, Superintendent of Police Rahul Kumar Lodha told PTI. Four persons from Rajasthan were killed and six others accompanying them injured when their SUV rammed into a truck in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh in the early hours of Saturday, police said. The accident occurred around 4 am on Biaora-Bina highway under Lateri police station limits, a police official said. "A group of 10 persons, including seven women, from Jhalawad in Rajasthan was returning from a pilgrimage when their Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) rammed into a truck.
