Medical device park in Himachal to provide 10,000 jobs, state Assembly told

The Medical Device Park being set up on 265 acres in Solan district would create 10,000 direct and indirect jobs, Himachal Pradesh Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan told the state assembly on Tuesday. The upcoming park in Manjholi village panchayat under Nalagarh assembly constituency would provide direct and indirect employment to 10,000 persons, Chauhan said in response to a question. The minister said that the state government will bear the entire expenditure on the project which is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025. No technical sanction was pending and there is possibility of setting up 65 industrial units under the project, he added. Meanwhile, chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu informed the state assembly that 2,708 cases of forest fires were reported during six months of the current year ending June 2024, but there was no loss of human life. In an effort to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency medical and surgical services, Delhi AIIMS has planned to enhance coordination between various departments to facilitate a faster turnover of patients, officials said The decision aims to address the challenges posed by the high volume of patients seeking emergency care and ensure that all individuals in need receive prompt and quality medical attention, they said. AIIMS New Delhi's main emergency department plays a crucial role in providing care to over 400 patients daily, equivalent to almost one patient every three minutes, AIIMS Director Dr M Srinivas said. However, the daily discharge rate from various inpatient wards averages around 250 patients, creating an imbalance between patient inflow and outflow. UP medical device park: 59 firms get land; Rs 415 crore investments

As many as 59 companies have been allotted land in the upcoming medical device park near Noida and these firms would invest around Rs 415 crore in setting up their businesses, officials said. These investments would also create direct employment opportunities for about 5,000 people, they said. The medical device park is coming up in 350 acres in Sector 28 along the Yamuna Expressway near Noida in Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on April 26 handed over allotment letters to the allottees. "The medical device park, which is set to be built on an area of 350 acres in Gautam Buddh Nagar, will not only manufacture medical devices but also create employment opportunities on a large scale," a UP government official said. Johnson & Johnson is splitting into two companies, separating the division that sells Band-Aids and Listerine, from its medical device and prescription drug business. The company selling prescription drugs and medical devices will keep Johnson & Johnson as its name, the company said Friday. The new consumer health company will house brands including Neutrogena, Aveeno, Tylenol, Listerine, Johnson's, and Band-Aid. A name was not disclosed for the new company.
