Microsoft India buys another land in Pune for Rs 453 cr: Square Yards

Technology giant Microsoft Corporation (India) has bought around 16 acres of land in Pune from Viva Highways for Rs 453 crore, according to property consultant Square Yards. In a statement on Friday, Square Yards said the recent land deal in Pune, registered in September 2024, involved the purchase of 66,450 square metres (approximately 16.4 acres) from Viva Highways Limited. "The transaction, which registered under its Indian arm Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt Ltd incurred a stamp duty of Rs 27.18 crore along with a registration fee of Rs 30,000," the consultant said, adding that the total consideration paid was Rs 453 crore. Earlier this week, Square Yards said that Microsoft had bought 16.4 acres of land in Pune for Rs 520 crore. PwC and Microsoft team up in India to boost cybersecurity with Copilot

PwC India has announced a partnership with Microsoft India to spruce up incident response and recovery capabilities. According to a release, the alliance brings together PwC India's incident management capabilities and Microsoft's advanced technology to protect enterprises effectively, at a time when organisations face increasingly-sophisticated cyber threats. "With the use of Microsoft Copilot (generative artificial intelligence chatbot) for security -- a generative AI-powered security solution, enterprises can leverage Microsoft's large-scale data and threat intelligence security graph with PwC's secure system rebuilding and broader incident management capabilities," the release said. Moreover, faster removal of threat actors can be achieved with Microsoft Incident Response swiftly, identifying and evicting bad actors, while PwC India focuses on rebuilding mission-critical systems securely, it added.

Most Indian knowledge workers use AI at workplace, says Microsoft Report

AI is increasingly influencing the way people work as well as hire and India has one of the highest AI adoption rates among knowledge workers, says a report by Microsoft and LinkedIn. According to the India findings of the 2024 Annual Work Trend Index from Microsoft and LinkedIn, 92 per cent of knowledge workers in India use AI at work, as compared to the global figure of 75 per cent. However, a large majority, 91 per cent of leaders in India, also believe their companies need to adopt AI to stay competitive and 54 per cent worry their organisation lacks a plan and vision for implementation. The findings are based on a survey of 31,000 people in 31 countries, labour and hiring trends on LinkedIn, trillions of Microsoft 365 productivity signals and research with Fortune 500 customers. Satya Nadella announces expansion of 'Code Without Barrier' programme

Microsoft Chief Satya Nadella on Thursday announced the expansion of Microsoft's 'Code Without Barriers' programme to India, aiming to train 75,000 women developers by 2024. The programme is to democratise access to tech skills nationwide, the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft said, as he spoke about the impact Indian developers are making in accelerating AI innovation globally during his address to 1,100 developers and technology leaders at the Microsoft AI Tour here.
