Chandrayaan-3 mission's Lander Module which touched down on the lunar surface, has rolled out the rover, Pragyan, with ISRO saying "India took a walk on the moon". On its official X handle, ISRO said the "rover ramped down." "Chandrayaan-3 ROVER: Made in India--Made for the Moon! The Ch-3 Rover ramped down from the lander and India took a walk on the moon!," it said. Official sources had earlier confirmed the development. President Droupadi Murmu congratulated the ISRO team for the successful deployment of Pragyan. "Its rolling out a few hours after the landing of Vikram marked the success of yet another stage of Chandrayaan 3. Communication link established between Chandrayaan-3 lander, MOX: Isro

Soon after the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO said communication link was established between the Lander and the space agency's Mission Operations Complex (MOX) here. The MOX is located at the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC). ISRO also released images from the Lander Horizontal Velocity Camera taken during the descent to the Moon's surface. Chandrayaan-3 mission's Lander Module on Wednesday touched down on the surface of the Moon.

Chandrayaan-3 mission: All set for automatic landing sequence, says Isro

ISRO on Wednesday said it is all set to initiate the Automatic Landing Sequence (ALS) for its ambitious third Moon mission Chandrayaan-3's Lander Module (LM) to touch down on the lunar surface this evening. The LM comprising the lander (Vikram) and the rover (Pragyan) is scheduled to make a touch down near the south polar region of the Moon at 6:04 pm on Wednesday, a feat not achieved by any country so far. "All set to initiate the Automatic Landing Sequence (ALS). Awaiting the arrival of Lander Module (LM) at the designated point, around 17:44 Hrs. IST (5:44 pm)," ISRO said in a post on X. "Upon receiving the ALS command, the LM activates the throttleable engines for powered descent. The mission operations team will keep confirming the sequential execution of commands," it said. Jharkhand's top technical institutions and several schools are all geared up to organise live streaming of the soft landing of ISRO's Moon mission Chandrayaan-3 on Wednesday, seeking to ignite a passion for space exploration among budding scientists.
