Asserting that Kalahandi was the "transformation model" of Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Wednesday unveiled projects worth Rs 1,200 crore in the district. Patnaik inaugurated projects worth Rs 300 crore, which included the Saheed Rendo Majhi Medical College and Hospital and an affordable bus service that will connect the villages to block headquarters. He also laid the foundation stones for projects worth Rs 900 crore. "Kalahandi is our model. From education, health, communication and industry to agriculture, all the sectors have seen positive development, fulfilling the dreams of the people. Kalahandi has changed its history, and added new success stories. Kalahandi is providing rice to the whole country today," the chief minister said. CM Patnaik inaugurates, lays foundation of projects worth Rs 541 cr

Amid protests by opposition workers, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation of projects worth Rs 541 crore. He inaugurated nine projects worth Rs 341 crore and laid foundation of four other projects with an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore. The nine inaugurated projects include Rs 90-crore Netaji Bus Terminal built on 15 acres of land at Khannagar area of Cuttack on the banks of Kathajodi River. He had laid the foundation of the bus terminal on the occasion of the the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on January 23, 2021. Cuttack-Barabati MLA Mohammad Moquim, who was expelled from Congress, boycotted the event alleging that locals were ignored in the construction and operation of the project, while BJP activists staged a protest, demanding the rehabilitation of vendors displaced by the project. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday directed officials to make arrangements for devotees during Ratha Jatra keeping in mind the prevailing hot weather in Puri. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday said his Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will go solo in the next year's Lok Sabha polls as it has "always" done, days after JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar met him amid efforts to forge a united opposition flank. Odisha approves 5 projects worth Rs 35,760 crore, to generate 38,100 jobs

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday approved five industrial projects worth Rs 35,760 crore which would generate employment for 38,100 people, an official said. The five projects got the nod at the meeting of High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) headed by Patnaik. The state government is working towards converting the investment intents received during Make in Odisha Conclave 2022 into ground reality. The approved projects are spread across diverse sectors like IT & ESDM /green energy equipment, steel, chemicals and textile. The proposed projects will be set up across various parts of the state like in Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, and Keonjhar districts, the official said. The committee has given a go-ahead to two projects in the steel sector, one project in green energy and equipment, one project in the chemicals sector, and one project in technical textile sector. The HLCA approved the proposal of WAREE Energies Limited, entailing an investment of Rs 25,000 .

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday inaugurated a slew of projects in Koraput worth Rs 200 crore and laid foundation stones of many more, estimated to cost Rs 1,400 crore, besides calling upon youth to take part in nation-building. Patnaik also attended the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Vikramdev University, and announced the construction of a state-of-the-art auditorium on its campus. Women to play key role in Odisha's industrialisation process, says Patnaik

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday said women will play a major role in the state's industrialiation process, as his government has initiated various schemes aimed at the weaker sections for their economic benefit. Patnaik was speaking at a public meeting here after launching and laying foundation stones of different projects worth around Rs 1,806 crore for Balasore district. "My government is committed to uplifting the weaker sections in general and poor women in particular, he said. The CM announced a sanction of Rs 220 crore for 5,600 Women Self Help Groups under the Mission Shakti programme. They will be entitled for loans up to Rs 5 lakh at zero per cent interest, helping them become small entrepreneurs. The women will be provided credit of Rs 50,000 crore in the next five years.
