The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has issued a stern warning to parents regarding the operation of two-wheelers and four-wheelers by individuals under 18 years of age. The police have warned up to Rs 25,000 fine, potential legal action against parents or guardians of underage drivers, 12-month vehicle registration cancellation, and no license until age 25 for the minor for flouting rules. This move is part of a broader campaign to ensure road safety and adherence to traffic laws, the police said in light of several incidents involving minors in Noida, Greater Noida and other parts of the country. In an official statement released on Tuesday evening, the Noida Police emphasised that it is both inappropriate and illegal for minors to drive any vehicle. Centipede in ice-cream ordered online, claims Noida woman; probe launched

A woman here has claimed she has found a centipede inside an ice-cream tub she ordered through an instant delivery app, said food safety officials, who have launched a probe into the matter. In a post on X on June 15, the woman, who identified herself as Deepa Devi, shared a picture showing the insect inside the ice-cream tub. "Finding an insect inside my Amul India ice cream was truly alarming. Quality control and food safety should never be compromised. FSSAI Publication have to take some legal action on such kind of incidents that are increasing in numbers day by day (sic)," she posted. Noida bizman arrested in UP STF probe on 'Chhattisgarh liquor scam'

The Special Task Force of the Uttar Pradesh police on Thursday arrested a Noida-based businessman in connection with a probe into the alleged Chhattisgarh liquor scam, officials said. An FIR was lodged at the Kasna police station in Greater Noida in July last year on the complaint of a deputy director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is investigating the alleged scam. Those named as accused were Niranjan Das, IAS officer and former excise commissioner of Chhattisgarh, Arunpati Tripathi, managing director of Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited and special secretary (excise), Chhattisgarh, Anil Tuteja, IAS officer and former industries secretary, Chhattisgarh, Anwar Dhewar, a politician, and Noida-based businessman Vidhu Gupta. Housing sales in Gurugram down 12% during Jan-Mar; up 19% in Noida: Report

Housing sales in Gurugram fell 12 per cent year-on-year in January-March, while the demand for residential properties increased in Noida by 19 per cent, according to Anarock. Real estate consultant Anarock's data showed that housing sales in Gurugram's primary market (first sale) declined 12 per cent to 8,550 units in the January-March period this year from 9,750 units in the year-ago period. In contrast, Noida saw a 19 per cent increase in housing sales to 1,600 units during January-March this year from 1,350 units in the corresponding period of the previous year. Commenting on the trend, Anarock Vice Chairman Santhosh Kumar said, "The demand continues to be strong in Gurugram. Still, sales dipped in the IT city due to a fall in new supply. Noida police arrest CMD of pharma firm from B'luru for defrauding investor

The chairman and managing director of a pharmaceutical company has been arrested from Bengaluru for allegedly defrauding an investor of Rs 70 crore six years ago, Noida police said on Thursday. The pharma company has offices in Dubai and Chennai while the investor, a Delhi resident, runs a firm in Noida's Sector 18. Shakir Hussain alleged that he was tricked into investing money into Novo Health Care in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and was shown forged balance sheets of the company by the accused, Ramani Kalpati Ramachandran Venkata, a native of Chennai, according to the FIR. On December 5, 2023, Hussain lodged a complaint at Sector 20 police station alleging that the accused duped him of Rs 70 crore on the pretext of investment in his company, a police spokesperson said. Noida admin issues notices to builders over complaints from flat buyers: DM

The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration on Tuesday decided to issue notices to several real estate developers, including Mahagun, Ajnara and Migsun, over a slew of complaints from flat buyers, officials said. The district administration held a meeting with flat buyers and builders, where senior administrators and officers of the registration department were also present to discuss issues including delay in possession and registries of flats, among others. "It has been decided that notice would be issued to some builders, including Mahagun, Ajnara and Migsun, seeking their response over the complaints related to their housing projects," District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma told PTI. "If their response is not found satisfactory then legal proceedings, including sealing of their premises, would be carried out. Several injured in pile-up on Yamuna Expressway in Gr Noida amid dense fog

Several commuters were injured in a pile-up on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida on Wednesday morning amid reduced visibility due to fog, police officials said. According to the officials, the incident took place around 8 am on the Agra to Noida lane of the expressway in Dayanatpur area under the Jewar police station limits. "No person suffered fatal injury in the incident while the number of those injured was yet to be ascertained," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Ashok Kumar said. The officer said most of the damaged vehicles have been removed from the expressway and normal traffic movement resumed on the stretch. The boards of Noida Authority and Greater Noida Authority on Tuesday adopted the Uttar Pradesh government's order to implement recommendations of the Amitabh Kant Committee on real estate projects, in a move aimed at helping buyers get homes soon and builders complete stuck projects. The decision will impact around 190 group housing projects across Noida and Greater Noida where developers are yet to clear dues amounting to around Rs 32,000 crore while over one lakh flats are yet to be delivered to buyers, according to official estimates. Marriage lawns and banquet halls in Noida have been asked to keep the volume of music during weddings within permissible limits, police officials said on Sunday. They have also been asked to step up the security on their premises and make sure that CCTV cameras are functional, the officials said. The Noida Authority said it has launched a probe into the alleged irregularities in the fixed deposit of Rs 200 crore of its money in a public bank, bringing under scanner the role of its finance department officials. The probe panel will submit inquiry findings to CEO Lokesh M by August 5, the authority said. Registries of 1,100 flats approved but held up by builders: Noida Authority

The Noida Authority has said subleased deeds, or registries, of 1,097 flats in 21 group housing projects in the city can be executed but are held up by the real estate developers, who are not getting the work done in favour of home buyers. The projects are located in Sector 75, 78, 121, 137, 144, 143B, 108, 168, and 107, the Noida Authority said Tuesday, warning punitive action against the erring developers if the registries are not ensured. It released a list of 21 real estate projects in which registries of a total of 1,097 flats can be executed but are held up. Over 1,100 traffic challans in Noida on Holi; hefty fines for stunts

Owners of more than 1,100 vehicles, including cars and two-wheelers, landed in the police net over violation of various road safety norms across Noida and Greater Noida on Holi, police officials said on Thursday. Around 30 vehicles were impounded and owners of at least five of them penalised hefty amounts ranging between Rs 17,000 to Rs 33,000 for "stunts" and recklessness like car occupants hanging from the windows, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav said. "Throughout Wednesday, around 475 traffic police personnel including inspectors, sub-inspectors and constables remained on duty across Gautam Buddh Nagar to keep a check on violations of rules, the officer said. The Noida Authority on Wednesday announced a hike in land purchase rate from farmers to Rs 5,324 per square metres from the existing Rs 5,060 per square metres. The authority also said that it would bring a scheme to facilitate resettlement of dues in group housing projects and sports city plots to help home buyers with the registry. It further amended provisions related to time extension for completion of projects by real estate developers. Noida Authority issues Rs 235 cr notice to DLF over Mall of India issue

The Noida Authority has issued a notice to real estate developer DLF to pay Rs 235 crore as compensation to the previous owner of the land on which the Mall of India has been built, a senior official said Monday. The DLF, however, said it was yet to receive the communication. The development comes in the backdrop of a Supreme Court order on May 5 in which it had directed the Noida Authority to ensure payment of compensation for the land to its previous owner Veerana Redyy. "Yes," Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari told PTI, confirming that the notice has been issued. Another senior official told PTI that the notice was issued to DLF on December 23 and the amount has to be remitted in 15 days.
