Rs 5,000 fine on vehicles not having high-security number plate in Noida

Starting Friday, private vehicles registered in Noida and Gautam Buddh Nagar but not having a high-security registration plate (HSRP) will be penalised Rs 5,000 as per law, police said on Thursday. According to officials, the HSRP was introduced by the central government and vide a notification in December 2018 made mandatory on commercial and non-commercial vehicles manufactured or registered after April 1, 2019. A deadline was also set for the implementation of the HSRP, ending on February 15, 2023, they said. The time period provided for installing high-security registration plates on vehicles was February 15 and it has ended now. Accordingly, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic police and the local police at thana levels will start a campaign to take action against vehicles not having HSRP, holding them liable for faulty number plates, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Yadav said. Over 13,000 families to relocate in phase II development of Noida airport

Around 18,500 families will be affected by the second phase development of the Noida International Airport and over 13,000 of them will have to be relocated, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh said on Wednesday. The MLA said heeding to the demand of villagers, it has been decided that the families which need to relocate will now have two options for resettlement - near Faleda Cut and at Modelpur, both near the airport. "The farmers have the choice to choose either resettlement and rehabilitation location as per their convenience," he said at a press conference along with Jewar Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Abhay Singh. Noida gets investment intents worth Rs 5.86 trn ahead of investor summit

Gautam Buddh Nagar, which includes industrial cities of Noida and Greater Noida, has received investment proposals worth Rs 5.86 lakh crore since the announcement of Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit in November 2022, according to district officials. The UP Global Investors Summit is scheduled from February 10 in Lucknow and the state government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has set a target of Rs 17 lakh crore investments through the ambitious drive. In the run-up to the GIS, Adityanath had also instructed state officials to hold investment summits at district-level in each of the 75 districts of the state, while road shows are being held in other states and foreign countries as well to attract investments. Noida investor summit attracts investment proposals worth Rs 11,500 crore

Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar on Friday received investment proposals of about Rs 11,500 crore from around 50 investors at the district-level investors' summit, officials said here. Around 250 investors participated in the summit held at the Indira Kala Kendra in Sector 6 here in presence of UP MSME minister Rakesh Sachan, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, District Magistrate Suhas L Yathiraj, Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, among others. "We got investment intents worth Rs 11,502 crore from 50 investors during the Gautam Buddh Nagar investors' summit today, Deputy Commissioner (Industries) Anil Kumar told PTI. According to officials, three investors were even allotted land by the Noida Authority on Friday itself. The Noida Authority has decided to release Rs 1,359 crore and the Greater Noida Authority Rs 453 crore for establishment of the Noida International Airport, according to official statements. The Noida Authority and the Greater Noida Authority are 37.5 per cent and 12.5 per cent shareholders, respectively, in the Greenfield airport being built as a public-private partnership project. 3 foreigners held, fake passport of Aishwarya Rai recovered: Noida Police

Three foreigners staying in Greater Noida have been arrested allegedly for being involved in cyber frauds and were found to have in their possession a fake passport made in the name of filmstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a senior police officer said on Friday. The police had lodged an FIR of fraud on the complaint of a retired Army colonel who was duped of Rs 1.81 crore. The investigation into the matter led to the three accused two hailing from Nigeria and one from Ghana, the officer said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Abhishek Verma said during the arrest, police also recovered USD 3,000 (around Rs 2.5 lakh) and 10,500 pounds (around Rs 10.60 lakh) from the three men's possession. The Noida Authority on Wednesday said it has razed illegal constructions, including commercial set ups, on a government land worth Rs 10 crore that had come under encroachment. The land measuring 7,000 sq metre is located in Kakrala Khawaspur village and falls in the river floodplains, it said. "In accordance with the instructions of the Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer Ritu Maheshwari, illegal commercial (10 shops) and temporary encroachment on about 7,000 square metres of land in Khasra No. 0-734 were demolished," the Noida Authority said in a statement.
