LS polls: Over 11,600 political hoardings removed within 72 hours in Noida

As many as 11,682 defacements, including wall writings, posters and banners, were removed in Gautam Buddh Nagar district within 72 hours in line with the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha election, according to official data. Of the total defacements removed, 9,361 were on public properties and 2,321 on private spaces across the district, data on the status of enforcement of poll code, accessed by PTI, showed. According to the Election Commission's guidelines on model code of conduct, all wall writings, posters, papers, cutouts, banners, flags or defacements in any other form, including cutouts, hoardings, banners, among others, on government properties should be removed within 24 hours from the announcement of elections. 93 hospitalised in twin food poisoning cases in Noida, Greater Noida

As many as 93 people, including 17 in Noida and 76 in Greater Noida, were hospitalised due to suspected food poisoning in two separate incidents after consuming special meals for fast made of 'kuttu ka atta' on Mahashivratri, officials on Saturday said. The 17 people, who fell ill in Noida, included men and women residents of Barola village who are admitted to the district hospital in Sector 30 while the 76 people in Greater Noida are students of different colleges living in a private hostel and have been admitted to different hospitals in the area, they said. The students, who are enrolled at different colleges and lived in a private hostel, had dinner on Friday after which many of them complained of uneasiness, dizziness and vomiting, police said. Godrej Properties buys Rs 506 cr land in Noida for Rs 3k cr housing project

Realty firm Godrej Properties Ltd has bought 6.46-acre land in Noida for around Rs 500 crore to develop a housing project with an estimated revenue of Rs 3,000 crore, as part of its expansion plan to tap rising demand. In a regulatory filing on Tuesday, the company informed it has been "declared the highest bidder and has secured the allotment letter to develop a prime land parcel in Noida through an e-auction conducted by the NOIDA development authority." Spread over 6.46 acres, the land is located in Sector 44, Noida. The company did not divulge the deal value, but sources said the company bought this land for Rs 506 crore. Noida Police to invoke CrPC 144 on February 16 due to 'Bharat Bandh'

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police on Thursday said restrictions under CrPC section 144, including a ban on unauthorised public assemblies, would be enforced across the district on February 16. The decision has been taken in view of proposed protest marches called by the farmers' body Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and other unions. The Bharatiya Kisan Union, part of SKM, had earlier called for a 'Bharat Bandh' on February 16, citing a host of unmet demands of farmers. "Various programs like protest demonstrations, etc are proposed by SKM and various organisations for Friday. Hence, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) is implemented on February 16," the police said in a statement. Country Group to invest Rs 5,000 crore in luxury housing project in Noida

Real estate developer County Group on Wednesday said it will invest Rs 5,000 crore over the next five years in a luxury housing project 'Ivory County' here. The group said it expects a sales realisation of approximately Rs 7,500 crore from the project wherein the investment would be done via self-funding, bank financing and customer advances for bookings. Envisioned in an area of 28 acres, 'Ivory County' is located in Sector 115 near FNG Expressway, Noida Expressway and Delhi-Meerut Expressway and will be the developer's largest housing project in terms of area. Noida farmers hold protest march, meeting with police yields no outcome

Thousands of farmers from around 100 villages of Noida and Greater Noida on Thursday took to the streets seeking hiked compensation for lands acquired by the government, bringing traffic to a standstill in several parts of Delhi-NCR as they made an unsuccessful bid to march towards Parliament. The farmers have decided to continue their protest outside the offices of the Noida and Greater Noida authorities in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Noida, Gr Noida register residential property of Rs 3,179 cr in Dec quarter

Noida and Greater Noida have witnessed 7,481 property registrations worth Rs 3,179 crore in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to data by online real estate platform Square Yards. The data is based on the property registered by the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Uttar Pradesh, the platform said in a statement on Wednesday. In Noida, 247 properties worth Rs 157 crore were registered in 'Noida Central' during the period, while 205 units valued at Rs 109 crore were registered on Noida Expressway, the data showed. As many as 6,366 properties worth Rs 2,643.7 crore were registered in Greater Noida West, also known as Noida Extension, and 643 units were registered in the 'Yamuna Expressway' area, the data showed. GNIDA plans to allot 44 industrial plots, expects Rs 5,000 cr revenue

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority on Wednesday said it has launched a scheme for allotment of 44 industrial plots and expects Rs 5,000 crore in revenue. The land allotment for industries will also generate 10,000 employment opportunities, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) said in a statement. These plots are located in six sectors and cover areas ranging from 135 square metres to 20,354 square metres, it said. "Greater Noida has emerged as a hub of industrial investment. Keeping in view the demand and need of entrepreneurs, the scheme has been launched. Possession of the plot will be given within the stipulated time. Bayview Projects, backed by filmmaker Boney Kapoor and real estate developer Bhutani Group, on Tuesday bagged a contract to develop the International Film City near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Uttar Pradesh, according to officials. 'Samsung plans to start making laptops at its Noida factory this year'

Korean electronics major Samsung plans to start manufacturing laptops at its Noida factory in India this year, a senior company official said on Monday. Terming India as its important manufacturing base, Samsung Electronics President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business TM Roh told reporters here that the preparation for the laptop manufacturing is in progress in India. Ram temple consecration: Public holiday in Noida govt offices, schools

Monday will be observed as a public holiday at all government establishments, including offices, schools and colleges, in Noida and Greater Noida, according to an official order. The holiday has been announced on account of the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. "In view of the event on January 22, it has been declared a public holiday in Uttar Pradesh under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881," Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma said in the order. Verma separately told PTI that government offices and other establishments like educational institutions will observe a day off on Monday. "However, private organisations and commercial facilities are open to take a decision on their own," he said.
