Oil regulator PNGRB has rejected Adani Total Gas Ltd's application for a licence to retail CNG to automobiles and piped gas to household kitchens in Noida, on the outskirts of the national capital, on grounds that it does not meet criteria. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) in an order dated July 14 said Adani Total Gas Ltd does not fulfill the requirements of law and so its application is rejected. Adani has been eyeing a city gas distribution (CGD) licence for cities adjoining the national capital for nearly two decades now. A firm can retail CNG or piped natural gas in a city only if it is authorised by the regulator or had permission from the central government prior to the regulator coming into existence. The National Disaster Response Force has rescued more than 900 animals, including cows, dogs, goats, rabbits and a bull worth Rs 1 crore, from the flood-affected areas of Delhi and Noida during the last few days, it said on Saturday. A spokesperson for the federal contingency force said its rescuers undertook a "significant" and "challenging evacuation" in Sector-135 of Noida, neighbouring Delhi, from where it rescued 221 livestock such as cows, calves and goats, dogs and rabbits and "India's number one bull, named Pritam". The bull is worth Rs 1 crore, the force said in a Twitter post. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 16 teams in Delhi, apart from a few others in the Delhi and the National Capital Region. The NDRF spokesperson said its personnel rescued 1,530 people from the flood-affected areas of Delhi and evacuated 6,345 people along with 912 livestock. Among the thousands of people impacted by the floods along Yamuna banks in Noida this week, there were hundreds who were hired as help in farmhouses built illegally in the low-lying areas near the river, officials said. Government officials said the workers and staffers of the farmhouses thousands in number were not moved to safety in time even as advisories were issued well before the area got inundated. These farmhouses are located near Nagli Wajidpur village in Sector 135 on the other side of the pushta (embankment) towards the Yamuna some two kms off the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. "More than 500 such people were evacuated on Thursday and Friday from the farmhouses. As water entered the ground level, many of those stranded, including women, had taken shelter on second storey of the farmhouses. As many as 7,210 people were impacted by the floods as overflowing Yamuna inundated around 550 hectares of low-lying land along its banks in Noida and Greater Noida on Friday, while rescue and relief measures continued in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, officials said. Of the impacted people, 3,610 have been displaced and moved to shelter homes. As many as 5,974 animals, including cattle, dogs, rabbits, ducks, roosters, and guinea pigs, have also been moved out of submerged areas to safety since Thursday, they said. Realty firm Gulshan Group on Friday said it will invest Rs 190 crore to develop a luxury housing project in Noida Extension, Uttar Pradesh. The company will develop 92 units in this 1.3-acre project named 'Gulshan Avante' located in Noida Extension (Greater Noida West). The company is selling 4-BHK fully furnished apartments, each of 3,200 square feet size, at an all inclusive price of Rs 3.52 crore. "We have already sold 44 apartments in this project. There is a great demand from businessmen and high salaried employees from this region," Gulshan Group Director Yukti Nagpal told reporters. Realty firm Saya Group on Wednesday said it will invest Rs 100 crore to develop 336 studio apartments in Greater Noida. The company will sell these 336 fully furnished studio apartments at around Rs 55 lakh. The size of each studio apartments will be around 700 square feet. "We are developing 336 studio apartments in Noida Extension (Greater Noida West). This is part of our 3-acre high street retail project Saya South X," Saya Group MD Vikas Bhasin told reporters. Max Ventures and Industries Ltd's (MaxVIL) real estate arm Max Estates has sold properties worth Rs 1,800 crore in its luxury housing project at Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Max Estates has "achieved pre-formal launch sales of over Rs 1,800 crores for its first luxury residential project, Estate 128, located in Sector 128, Noida", MaxVIL said in a regulatory filing. The project is spread over 10 acres, with three high-rise towers having 201 units. The company did not disclose the number of units sold and at what price. Max Estates will start construction of the project in this quarter and will achieve completion in 48-60 months. Established in 2016, Max Estates is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MaxVIL. Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL) is likely to invite this week expression of interest (EoI) for development of MRO facilities at the upcoming airport in Jewar near Delhi, according to officials. The EoI will be open till October this year and NIAL is expecting response for MRO not only from commercial airlines and private operators but also aircraft manufacturers, a senior officer said. MRO stands for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul in the aviation industry. It refers to the activities involved in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling aircraft, aircraft components, and systems to ensure their airworthiness and safe operation. The EoI for developing MRO facilities at Noida International Airport will be floated soon, likely this week. Real estate regulator in Uttar Pradesh has asked realty firm Ajnara Realtech to complete its stalled housing project in Greater Noida, comprising nearly 600 flats, by June 2025. The project 'Ajnara Le Garden Phase-3', located in Noida Extension (Greater Noida -West), was launched in 2014 but could not be completed. There are 585 flats in four towers in this project, of which 476 units have been sold to customers. Realty firm Saya Group will invest Rs 2,000 crore to develop a 14 lakh square feet shopping mall in Noida as part of its expansion plan, its CMD Vikas Bhasin said on Wednesday. The construction work has started and the shopping mall 'Saya Status' is expected to be operational in January 2025. "We are developing the country's tallest mall in Sector 128, Noida Expressway. The total built up area is 14 lakh square feet while the leasable area is 11 lakh square feet," Bhasin told reporters. The height of the 9-floor shopping mall is around 160 square feet, the company said. The company will keep 70 per cent area in the mall and sell 30 per cent area to investors. The company however will retain the leasing rights. Asked about investment, Bhasin said the total cost will be around Rs 2,000 crore, including expenditure on land, construction and marketing. Eighty-six per cent of the households in Noida and 94 per cent in Uttar Pradesh have experienced daily power outages in the ongoing month of June, according to a survey by a social media platform. The findings are based on responses from over 14,000 respondents located in 56 of the 75 districts of the state, the survey conducted by LocalCircles said. According to the survey, 94 per cent of households in Uttar Pradesh surveyed say they have been facing power outages daily in June. Also, 65 per cent of those surveyed in Uttar Pradesh are facing power outages three or more times on average every day, it claimed. Overall in Uttar Pradesh, six per cent of the respondents stated that they have no knowledge as we have 24X7 power backup, the survey found.
