Cipla to acquire Ivia Beaute's cosmetics, personal care biz for Rs 130 cr

Pharma major Cipla Ltd will acquire the cosmetics and personal care distribution and marketing business of Ivia Beaute Pvt Ltd, including the latter's brands Astaberry, Ikin and Bhimsaini, on a worldwide basis for Rs 130 crore, according to a regulatory filing by the company. Cipla Health Ltd (CHL), a wholly owned subsidiary and consumer healthcare arm, has signed a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) for purchase of the distribution and marketing business undertaking of the cosmetics and personal care business of Ivia Beaute Pvt Ltd, Cipla said. This strategic move is aligned with Cipla's focus on enhancing its consumer healthcare and wellness portfolio, it added. The acquisition will include Ivia Beaute's brands namely Astaberry, Ikin and Bhimsaini on a worldwide basis, the company said. Dabur scouting for acquisition targets in D2C healthcare, personal care

Homegrown FMCG major Dabur India is looking for an acquisition in direct-to-consumer (D2C) space, particularly in healthcare and personal care, its Chief Executive Officer Mohit Malhotra said on Thursday. The acquisition will help Dabur to increase its play in the fast-growing premium segment and also to strengthen our urban play, Malhotra said in a post-results Investors' Conference Call. Besides, the company, which owns iconic brands such as Dabur Amla, Dabur Vatika, and juice brand Real, is increasing investments in branding and promotion as its margins are improving quarter on quarter amidst softening commodity prices. Marico to acquire Vietnamese personal care brands 'Purit de Prvence', 'liv'

Marico on Friday said it will acquire Vietnam-based Beauty X Corporation, which owns female personal care brands 'Purit de Prvence' and 'liv', in an all-cash deal for 493 Billion Vietnamese Dong (about Rs 172 crore). The move will help the homegrown-FMCG major to expand its presence in Vietnam. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Marico South-East Asia Corporation (MSEA) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 100 per cent of Beauty X Corporation, a firm which operates in the beauty and personal care space offering products such as shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, face wash and lotions among others. "The transaction will expand Marico's presence in the female personal care segment in Vietnam, with an offering of a range of premium and differentiated hair care and skin care products, while also realising various operational synergies," the company said.
