Central Vista: Ahluwalia Contracts lowest bidder to build Executive Enclave

Ahluwalia Contracts India Limited on Tuesday emerged as the lowest bidder for the construction of Executive Enclave as part of the Central Vista project that will house the prime minister's office (PMO), cabinet secretariat, India House and the National Security Council Secretariat, official document showed. The company, headquartered in Delhi, quoted an amount of around Rs 1,119 crore, 3.50 per cent less than the Rs 1,160-crore cost estimated by the CPWD, which has been executing the Modi government's ambitious Central Vista Redevelopment project. Tata Projects Limited, which is constructing a new Parliament building, quoted Rs 1,154 crore. NCC Limited quoted a bid amount of around Rs 1,158 crore and Larsen & Toubro Limited around Rs 1,317 crore, the document showed. Manish Tewari to raise EC's 'informal meeting' with PMO in Lok Sabha

Congress leader Manish Tewari on Friday submitted a notice to move an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on the "summoning" of Election Commission for a meeting in the Prime Minister's Office to discuss electoral reforms. In the notice, he raised questions on the autonomy of the poll panel, but the Lok Sabha was adjourned amid uproar over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. PM Narendra Modi to address mayors' conference in Varanasi on Friday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and address the All India Mayors' Conference, which is being organised in Varanasi, on Friday via video conferencing. The PMO said mayors from various states will participate in the conference whose theme is New Urban India. It has been the constant endeavour of the prime minister to ensure ease of living in urban areas, it noted, adding the government has launched multiple schemes and initiatives to address the issues of dilapidated urban infrastructure and lack of amenities. A special focus of these efforts has been the state of Uttar Pradesh, which has witnessed tremendous progress and transformation of the urban landscape, especially in the last five years, the PMO said.
