Porsche India on Wednesday said its retail sales increased 40 per cent year-on-year to 489 units in the January-June period. The company saw robust sales of Cayenne and Macan models during the period under review, the luxury sports carmaker said in a statement. "The desire to own a Porsche in India continues to grow and we are elated to see that the first half of 2024 has been our best ever," said Manolito Vujicic, Brand Director, Porsche India. This reflects what has been a solid, continuous growth of sales right across each model line for Porsche in India over the past few years, he added. "It bodes well for the remainder of 2024 with a brace of more exciting new models set to launch in conjunction with further expansion of the Porsche network across the country," Vujicic said. The Pune police have arrested the grandfather of the 17-year-old minor who allegedly fatally knocked down two persons with his Porsche for alleged wrongful confinement of their family driver, an official said on Saturday. The teenager's father Vishal Agarwal, who is in judicial custody in connection with the car accident, has also been named in this case, he said. A day earlier, Pune police chief Amitesh Kumar had said that an attempt was made to establish that the high-end car was not driven by the minor. On a complaint by the family driver of the juvenile, the Yerawada police have registered a separate offence against the teen's grandfather and father, he said. Luxury sports car maker Porsche India on Tuesday reported its best retail sales with 914 units in 2023, a growth of 17 per cent over the previous year. The company also fulfilled its commitment of an electric future by recording the highest number of 113 Taycan deliveries to date, Porsche India said in a statement. Besides, a record 65 units of the iconic 911 model were delivered in the same period, it added. Porsche India Brand Director, Manolito Vujicic said,"2023 was another strong year for Porsche India where sales of every model played a significant factor in our encouraging result." He further said it sets a good benchmark for 2024 which will see several new products being launched, as well as further expansion to the retail network. New showrooms will be opened in Pune and Hyderabad in the first half of the year as part of a continuing network expansion, the company added.

German sports Luxury car maker Porsche on Friday said its delivery of cars in India increased 64 per cent in 2022 to 779 units against 474 units in 2021. The massive surge in sales was driven by a strong interest among the buyers for its SUVs and sports cars, with a 69 per cent growth in the sales of SUV models, Porsche India said in a statement. The premium carmaker said the sales include 78 units of its all-new electric Tycan (launched in December 2021) in the 12-month period. Luxury car maker Porsche India on Wednesday reported about 37 per cent rise in its sales to 193 units for the third quarter of 2022. The company had retailed a total of 141 cars in the third quarter of 2021, according to Porsche India. Retail sales of 193 units during the third quarter helped Porsche India reach 571 deliveries so far in 2022, surpassing the previous best full-year total of 534 units delivered in 2013, it said in a statement. On a consolidated basis, it has delivered 71 per cent growth in its car sales in the first nine months -- January-September -- of the current year, it added.
