Kalpataru Power Transmission on Monday posted a nearly 22 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 140 crore for the March 2023 quarter, mainly on the back of higher revenues. It had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 115 crore in the year-ago quarter, a BSE filing showed. The total income rose to Rs 4,896 crore in the quarter from Rs 4,169 crore a year ago. For the full 2022-23, its consolidated net profit dipped to Rs 435 crore from Rs 535 crore in the preceding fiscal. The total income in the fiscal under review also rose to Rs 16,401 crore against Rs 14,866 crore. Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (KPTL) and its international subsidiaries have secured new orders/notification of awards of Rs 3,185 crore, a company statement said. These include orders in the T&D (transmission distribution) business of Rs 1,481 crore and EPC (engineering procurement construction) projects in the water business of Rs 1,509 crore, a company statement said. Over 17,000 circuit kilometers of transmission lines were installed in India in the last nine years to strengthen the electricity distribution system, Union Power Minister R K Singh said on Tuesday. He made the remarks while addressing delegates from the West African region at an event organised by the International Solar Alliance (ISA) in collaboration with Grid Controller of India Ltd (Grid-India) and West African Power Pool (WAPP) in the national capital. The orders have been secured in India and overseas markets in the T&D business, KPTL said in a statement. Infrastructure investment trust IndiGrid has received Letter of Intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (REC) to establish a transmission system for evacuation of power from renewable energy projects in Osmanabad area in Maharashtra, a statement said. This project is envisaged on build, own, operate and maintain (BOOM) basis for a period of 35 years through tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB), the statement said. The project, with a planned outlay of Rs 170 crore, will consist of one substation of 2 x 500 MVA, 400/220 kV near Kallam and 10 Bays with a LILO multi circuit line of 18 kms. The project will strengthen the transmission system in Maharashtra by improving the grid availability for evacuation & integration of renewable energy in the state. The project is situated in a low-risk plain topography and is proposed to be completed over the next 15-18 months.
