Tata Power on Monday said it has inked an initial pact with the Rajasthan government for investment of Rs 1.2 lakh crore, including Rs 75,000 crore in green energy, in the state's power sector. The 10-year plan aims to support Rajasthan's transformation into a power surplus state, providing 24/7 clean, affordable, and reliable power supply. Investments will be made in renewable energy projects and manufacturing, transmission, distribution, nuclear power, rooftop installations, and EV charging, a company statement said. The MoU was signed during the 'Rising Rajasthan' Investor Meet in New Delhi on Monday. An amount of Rs 20,000 crore will be invested in the state transmission and distribution area to modernize the grid infrastructure, reduce energy losses, and improve power quality across the state. Besides, Rs 10,000 crore will be invested for transmission systems exploring opportunities to develop nuclear power plant. Nearly Rs 75,000 crore will be for renewable energy projects.

Kota city police has arrested one of the accused, who was on the run for two years, in the alleged Delhi Police recruitment exam scam, a police official said. The accused was also wanted by the Kota police in another case related to forged documents. Akhilesh Kumar Singh (32), a resident of the Jamui district in Bihar and currently living in Delhi's Rohini, was arrested from Haryana's Jind district on Saturday in connection with a case of forged documents, Kota City SP Amrita Duhan said. Five trainee sub-inspectors, including two women, who had been detained earlier for questioning, were arrested on Sunday by the Special Operations Group (SOG) for their alleged involvement in a paper leak incident of the sub-inspector recruitment exam, officials said. All five accused were produced before a court from where they were sent for police remand till September 7, they said. According to an official statement, among the arrested trainees include Shobha Raika and her brother Devesh Raima. The Rajasthan Cabinet on Saturday approved a proposal for the setting up of four joint venture companies in the energy sector, which will work on projects related to renewable and thermal power generation and transmission. The state Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also approved the development of metro rail projects in the state. Apart from setting up joint ventures for renewable and thermal power projects and power transmission projects, the Cabinet also cleared the formation of an infrastructure investment trust, according to an official statement.
