UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) on Monday announced the appointment of Jennifer Morgan as its new CEO, and Nitin Chandel as the new Group Vice President and Country Manager for India. UKG is a provider of HR, payroll, and workforce management solutions. It serves 80,000 businesses across more than 150 countries. Morgan succeeds Chris Todd, who stepped down earlier this month. She holds over three decades of experience in the enterprise software industry, having served as global head of portfolio operations at Blackstone, and co-CEO at SAP. Morgan told PTI that she envisions scaling the company's operations in India and growing UKG's India headcount by a third in FY25, building on the "strong base" of 3,000 employees. Currently, UKG's solutions are used by over 1 million employees in India across sectors like manufacturing, IT, BPO, retail, IT, and healthcare, she said. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday claimed that the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh wanted to drag the issue of recruitment of assistant teachers. The Allahabad High Court had recently directed the Uttar Pradesh government to prepare a fresh selection list for the appointment of 69,000 assistant teachers in the state within three months in line with the Basic Education Rules and Reservation Guidelines. It set aside the selection lists issued in June 2020 and January 2022, which included 6,800 candidates of the reserved categories. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday said that recruitments on 35,000 posts will be completed by October this year. White-collar hiring activity in June witnessed a 7.62 per cent decline as recruitment in most sectors remained flat, a report said on Monday. In June, white-collar hiring activity declined 7.62 per cent with 2,582 job postings compared to 2,795 a year earlier, according to Naukri JobSpeak Index. Sectors, including telecom (12 per cent), BPO/ITES (9 per cent), education and teaching (9 per cent), Global Capability Centres (7 per cent) which witnessed corrections in hiring compared to the same month of the previous year, it stated. Sectors such as insurance (28 per cent), FMCG/food industry (12 per cent), pharmaceutical (6 per cent) witnessed positive performance in hiring in June as against the same month last year, it said. The CBI is conducting searches at 67 locations in Odisha in connection with an alleged recruitment fraud in the postal department, officials said Thursday. The CBI action comes on an year old complaint from the postal department alleging 63 candidates of the Gramin Dak Sevaks Exam allegedly submitted fake certificates. Over 204 officials, including 122 officers from the CBI and 82 personnel from other departments, swooped down at various premises in Kalahandi, Nuapada, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak with an objective of uncovering the interstate organised gang responsible for providing these fake certificates. Hiring for replacements for existing positions will take at least 23 per cent of recruitment efforts in the current fiscal, said staffing solutions and HR services provider Genius Consultants' Hiring, Compensation, and Attrition Management report. "The hiring outlook for 2024-25 across the industry indicates a strong focus on new position hiring, which will make up 27 per cent of recruitment efforts.
